This study aimed to analyze the storytelling technique of “Alsuseol Shinjap 1 - Gyeongju,” a TV entertainment program that uses the theme of Gyeongju. It also aimed to understand the locality of Gyeongju in TV programs. As a result of the study, it was analyzed that “Gyeongju Episode 1” is largely different from existing TV programs in that it takes a nonlinear and interactive storytelling composition that focuses on “dialogue” in the “here and now.” This forms a new chapter of discussion and meaning. Second, through the composition method that centers on the dialogue and memory of the cast, it was possible to explore the harmony between the multi-layered storytelling technique of the Gyeongju area. This study, however, has limitations in that it has not been able to specifically attempt comparison with other TV programs based on the Gyeongju area. Through a follow-up research in the future, it is expected that TV program storytelling techniques that use local resources will be continuously organized. Based on this, cultural tourism resources using TV content will be developed and promoted, which could attract tourists.

본 연구는 경주 지역을 주제로 한 TV 예능프로그램인 <알쓸신잡1> ‘경주 편’을 중심으로 <알쓸신잡1>의 스토리텔링 기법을 분석하고, 이를 통해 TV 프로그램에서 소재적, 서사적, 주제적 차원에서 ‘경주’ 지역을 어떻게 활용하고 있는지를 고찰함으로써 경주의 로컬리티가 TV 프로그램에서 재현되고 향유되는 양상을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 시도되었다. 연구 결과, <알쓸신잡1> ‘경주 편’은 첫째, ‘지금 여기’에서 이루어지는 ‘대화’에 포커스를 둔 비선형적, 상호작용적인 스토리텔링 구성을 취하고 있다는 점에서 기존의 TV 프로그램과 대별되며, 다양한 논의의 장, 의미의 장을 새롭게 형성하고 있다는 점을 분석하였다. 둘째, 출연진의 대화와 기억을 중심으로 전개되는 구성 방식을 통해, 이야기를 또 이야기하는 다층적 스토리텔링 기법과 ‘경주’ 지역의 조화를 탐색할 수 있었다. 한편, 본 연구에서는 경주 지역을 소재로 한 여타의 TV 프로그램과의 비교를 구체적으로 시도하지 못했다는 점에서 한계가 있다. 추후 후속 연구를 통해 지역 자원을 활용한 TV 프로그램 스토리텔링 기법을 지속적으로 체계화하고 이를 토대로 TV 콘텐츠를 활용한 문화관광 자원의 개발 및 홍보, 관광객의 유치가 활성화되기를 기대한다.
