As the world goes through a global pandemic, the role of faith-based organizations (FBO) and the need for global governance are imperative as lower-income and disadvantaged communities experience bigger insecurities, inequality increases, and the government and public health systems face their limits. Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) is an organization that has been pursuing global governance for 30 years since its establishment in 1992. This study evaluates the activities of WFWP from the following perspectives: global governance, founders’ vision for the organization, and as a global FBO. Furthermore, this research presents a suggestion for progress for the next 30 years by analyzing the reason why WFWP was unable to establish itself as a leading women’s global organization after drawing attention from the UN and the international community.

글로벌 팬데믹 시대에는 불평등이 가속화 되고, 취약지역과 취역계층은 더 큰 위 험에 노출된다. 정부와 공공의료시스템 또한 한계를 맞기도 하므로 글로벌 거버넌 스와 FBO들의 역할이 더욱 절실히 요청된다. 여성연합은 글로벌 거버넌스를 지향 하며 창설 30주년을 맞았다. 그동안의 활동을 글로벌 거버넌스 관점, 창설자의 설립 취지 관점, 글로벌 FBO로서의 관점에서 평가하였다. 여성연합은 창립 후 단기간에 유엔과 국제사회의 주목을 받았지만 이후 주도적 글로벌 여성단체로 자리매김하지 못한 원인들을 분석하고, 미래 30년을 위한 발전적 제언을 제시하였다.
