This study intends to examine the effect of patriarchal family on distribution of sexually explicit material and tests the interaction effects between patriarchal family and external and internal control variables such as perceived punishment and self-control in order to investigate their moderating effects. Results by using data from 608 male and female college students in Seoul show that the effect of patriarchal family on distribution of sexually explicit material is positively significant. And this study examines the interaction effects to know whether punishment and self-control have buffering control effects. It is found that interaction effects between patriarchal family and self-control on distribution of sexually explicit material are negatively significant. Results show that students who have high self-control are less likely to commit distribution of sexually explicit material, even though they have patriarchal family environment. However, it is shown that interaction effects between patriarchal family and perceived punishment on distribution of sexually explicit material are positively significant. This study show that internal self-control is a main control role in the effect of patriarchal family on distribution of sexually explicit material.

이 연구는 대학생을 대상으로 성영상물유통 행위를 설명함에 있어 가부장환경의 영향력은 어떤 지, 그리고 그러한 영향력을 통제하는 요인은 무엇인지를 알기 위해 대표적인 외적, 내적 통제요인 으로 공식처벌과 자기통제력을 제시하고 가부장가정환경과 통제요인들간의 상호작용효과를 살펴보 았다. 서울시 대학생 608명의 조사연구에서 그 결과 가부장가정의 대학생이 성영상물유통의 행위를 더 한다는 것을 제시해 본 연구의 가설을 지지했다. 그리고 본 연구의 주요 연구목적으로 그와 같은 가부장가정의 영향력을 어떠한 통제요인이 통제할 수 있는지를 살펴보기 위해 가부장가정환경과 공 식처벌 및 가부장가정환경과 자기통제력과의 상호작용효과를 살펴본 결과 가부장가정과 자기통제력 과는 부(-)적인 상호작용효과를 제시해 가부장가정의 대학생이 성영상물유통 가능성이 매우 높지만 가부장가정의 대학생이라 하더라도 자기통제력이 높다면 성영상물유통 가능성이 낮다는 것을 제시 했다. 하지만 가부장가정과 공식처벌인지와의 상호작용효과는 오히려 정(+)적으로 나타났고 그 영향 이 미비했다. 이 결과 가부장가정의 영향과 그 대책으로는 외적, 내적 통제요인 중 외적 통제보다는 내적 통제가 중요하다는 것을 제시했다.
