This study aims to not only design and operate self-introduction speech applying the Photovoice methodology in real-time remote learning, but also propose a new approach breaking away from uniform speech education. For this purpose, this study carried out a photo-mediated self-introduction speech by applying the Photovoice methodology from March 9 to March 17, 2021 oriented to 78 students of “Introduction to practical speech,” an elective course of liberal arts at D University. Result of content analysis of recorded video, four themes and eight sub-themes have been derived. Four themes turned out to be “self-discovery through past experiences,” “my favorite things,” “external and internal aspects” and “establishment of life value.” This way, application of the Photovoice methodology to self-introduction speech for the first time made it possible to achieve various effects such as secured diversity of speech materials, active interaction, and formation of emotional bonds. Through the results of the research, this study is considered significant in the sense that it proposes a new speech education method allowing for formation of a sense of closeness with each other.

본 연구의 목적은 실시간 원격수업에서 포토보이스 방법론을 적용한 자기소개 스피 치를 설계 및 운영하고, 획일적인 스피치 교육에서 탈피한 새로운 접근법을 제안하는데 있다. 이를 위해 D대학 교양 선택 교과목인 ‘실전 스피치 기초’ 수강생 78명을 대상으 로 2021년 3월 9일부터 3월 17일까지 포토보이스 방법론을 적용해 사진을 매개로 한 자 기소개 스피치를 진행하였다. 녹화된 스피치 동영상을 내용 분석한 결과, 4개의 상위 주 제와 8개의 하위 주제가 도출되었다. 4개의 상위 주제는 ‘과거 경험을 통한 자기 발견’, ‘내가 좋아하는 것’, ‘외면적 측면과 내면적 측면’, ‘인생 가치 설정’으로 나타났다. 이렇 게 자기소개 스피치에 포토보이스 방법론을 처음으로 적용함으로써 스피치 소재의 다 양성 확보, 활발한 상호작용, 정서적 유대감 형성 등의 효과를 거둘 수 있었다. 이를 통 해 본 연구는 서로 간의 친밀감을 형성할 수 있는 새로운 스피치 접근법을 제안한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
