This study aimed to suggest a revised and supplemented plans for Korean music class activities based on the interest of 113 middle school students, both male and female, who participated in class activities for Korean music to which therapeutic factors were applied. The results are as follows. First, as a result of examining the experiences of middle school students, it was found that the frequency of listening to Korean music in daily life was ‘hardly ever listen to it’ and the reasons were ‘no opportunity to experience it’ and ‘it is boring’. Second, there was a high level of interest in Korean music class activities such as performing as a group with new sound effect instruments, drawing music pictures, drawing calligraphy for the song lyrics and playing using an app. It was found that even if the preference for the songs for in-class use was low, the level of interest could be increased depending on the contents and composition of the activities. Third, activities plans in a therapeutic approach centered on real sound was presented to help each individual explore inner self, considering the difficulties in creative activities such as songwriting the lyrics of the songs and burden of singing and providing a stable environment for psychological and emotional expression. This study is meaningful in that it provides plans for Korean music class activities and implications based on the results of applying therapeutic factors and surveying middle school students’ interest level to vitalize Korea music classes. In future study, it is expected that studies on various class designs and application for Korean music as well as interdisciplinary research that combines music therapy and education will continue to be carried out.

본 연구는 치료적 요소를 적용한 국악 수업 활동에 참여한 113명의 남, 여 중학생의 흥미 도를 조사한 결과를 바탕으로 수정ㆍ보완된 활동 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이에 대한 결과 는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중학생의 평소 국악 경험을 살펴본 결과 일상생활에서의 국악 청취 빈도는 ‘거의 듣지 않는다’이고, 그 이유는 ‘국악을 접할 기회가 없어서’, ‘지루해서’인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 치료적 요소를 적용한 국악 수업 활동은 새로운 효과음 악기로 모둠별 연주 하기, 음악 듣고 그림 그리기, 제재 곡의 가사 캘리그라피 그리기, 어플을 활용하여 연주하기 등이 높은 흥미도가 있었으며 제재 곡에 대한 선호도가 낮아도 활동 내용과 구성에 따라 수 업에 대한 흥미도는 높아질 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 제재 곡의 가사를 개사하는 창작 활동에 대한 어려움, 노래부르기에 대한 부담감을 고려하고, 심리ㆍ정서 표현을 위한 안정된 환경의 제공, 개개인의 내적인 탐색을 돕는 실음 중심의 치료적 접근 활동 방안이 제시되었 다. 본 연구는 국악 수업의 활성화를 위해 치료적 요소를 적용하고 중학생의 흥미도를 조사 한 결과를 토대로 국악 수업 활동 방안과 시사점을 제공한 것에 의의가 있다. 추후 연구에서 는 다양한 국악 수업 구상과 적용 연구 및 치료와 교육을 접목한 학문간 연계 연구가 지속적 으로 수행되기를 기대한다.
