The purpose of this paper is to reveal the effectiveness of a humanities therapy program for self-exploration and self-understanding. This is a joint study involving 4 co-authors. The co-authors designed the program and participated directly in the program. This program has the goal of self-exploration and self-understanding, and this paper is a study examining the process and results of this program. The program is called “Retelling Bom[春, Spring]” and the main method is “retelling”. The subject of retelling is ‘Sangsa Snake’, a story that represents the region. The co-authors wrote Tale of Sangsa Snake in a continuous writing and rewriting method. In addition, in order to deepen self-exploitation and self-understanding, they combined various techniques such as discussion, reflective writing, and writing letters to the protagonist. As a result of participating in the program, co-authors found themselves deeply explored and understood. The co-authors have confirmed that this program can be expanded and developed into a program in which various community members can participate.

인문치료는 인문학적 정신과 방법으로 건강한 삶을 치유하고 예방하는 것을 목표로 하는 학문으로, 이야기는 인문치료에서 주요한 방법으로 활용된다. 이 논문은 4인의 공 동연구자가 자기탐색과 자기이해, 성찰을 목표로 한 인문치료 프로그램을 설계하고, 스스로 참여자가 되어 프로그램에 참여한 과정과 결과를 검토한 공동연구이다. ‘다시 써 봄[春]’이라는 프로그램명으로 진행된 이 프로그램은 리텔링(retelling)의 방법을 중 심으로 설계되었다. 리텔링의 대상이 된 이야기는 지역을 대표하는 이야기이자, 관계 성, 욕망 등이 잘 드러난 ‘상사뱀 설화’이다. 이 프로그램의 참여자들은 상사뱀 설화의 리텔링을 이어쓰기와 다시쓰기 기법으로 진행하였고, 자기탐색과 자기이해의 심화를 위해 토론, 성찰적 글쓰기, 협동 시 쓰기, 주인공에게 편지쓰기 등의 다양한 기법을 병 행하여 인문치료의 효과를 높이고자 하였다. 참여자들은 자기 자신을 깊이 있게 탐색 하고 이해하며 성찰하는 동시에, 상대방을 배려하고 존중하는 태도를 배울 수 있었다. 지역 설화 리텔링을 주요한 방법으로 활용한 ‘다시 써 봄[春]’을 실행한 결과, 본 인문 치료 프로그램의 목표였던 ‘자기탐색과 자기이해’라는 목적을 효과적으로 달성했다는 점을 확인하였다. 또한 지역 설화와 글쓰기에 관심을 가진 다양한 계층의 사람들의 참 여할 수 있는 치유 프로그램으로 확대‧발전될 수 있을 것이라는 충분한 가능성을 확인 하였다.
