Capitalism’s greed and anthropocentrism have caused the destruction of global ecosystems, resulting in the COVID-19 pandemic that has disrupted our peaceful lives. There is an undeniable, bleak reality behind the global health crisis sweeping our planet as an invisible virus mutates and threatens mankind: environmental destruction. Accordingly, there have been strong arguments that the realization of a global community where humans and nature co-exist in peace and harmony should be presented as a ‘new normal.’ As an alternative perspective for overcoming today’s environmental crisis, this research paper studied the idea of “dominion over all things,” a peace theory on ecology suggested by the Unification thought. The paper examines and discusses the original value nature possesses from a world view of dual characteristics and the deep heart, and presents a new ecological human view that reconstructs man as the true ruler of all things.

탐욕적 자본주의와 인간중심주의가 초래한 지구생태계 파괴는 코로나19 팬데믹으로 돌아 와 우리의 평화롭던 일상을 빠르게 무너뜨렸다. 눈에 보이지 않는 바이러스가 변이를 거쳐 인 류를 위협하는 글로벌 보건위기의 이면에는 생태계 파괴라는 어두운 지구적 현실이 자리하고 있다. 이에 따라 인간과 자연이 평화롭게 공존, 연대하는 지구공동체의 실현이 ‘뉴노멀’로 제시 되어야 한다는 주장도 강하게 제기되고 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 논문은 오늘날의 환경 위기 를 극복하기 위한 하나의 대안이념으로 통일사상의 생태평화사상인 만물주관론에 주목하였 다. 이를 통해 이성성상의 세계관과 심정의 세계관을 바탕으로 자연만물이 가지는 본래적 가치 를 논의하고 이에 기초하여 만물의 참된 주관주로 자신의 정체성을 재구성하는 새로운 생태적 인간주의를 제안하였다.
