Heidegger’s philosophy has ontology as its core domain. Although there have been a number of recent studies that reveal the ethical nature of Heidegger’s philosophy, there is still considerable recognition that there is no ethics in his philosophy. This recognition arose because Heidegger rejected the need for a study of normative ethics. There is indeed no equivalent of normative ethics in Heidegger’s philosophy. Since Greek philosophy, there have been various types of ethics, and Heidegger’s philosophy is a type that emphasizes humanity and attitudes toward life on a more principle level, and it should be understood that it contains some profound ethical content. Past studies have mainly focused on elucidating the ethical dimension of Heidegger’s philosophy and what kind of ethical dimension exists within it. This article reveals how the ethical dimension suggested by his ontology can be applied to Heidegger’s philosophy of art. In addition, I argue that when an ethical element is applied to Heidegger’s philosophy of art, there is an opportunity to interpret Heidegger’s philosophy in a more ethically practical way. When Heidegger is interpreted in this way, it is also naturally derived that a theory of art education applying Heidegger’s ethical position is possible.

하이데거의 철학은 존재론이 핵심으로 알려져 있다. 최근 하이데거 철학의 윤리학적 성격을 조명하는 연구가 다수 나왔음에도 불구하고, 여전히 그의 철학에 윤리학이 부재하다는 인식은 상당하다. 이는 하이 데거가 규범적 내용에 대한 연구의 필요성을 거부했기에 생긴 인식이 다. 하이데거 철학에는 실제로 규범윤리학에 해당하는 것은 존재치 않 는다. 하지만 그리스 철학 이래로 윤리학에는 다양한 유형이 있어 왔 고, 하이데거의 철학은 보다 원리적 차원에서 인간성과 삶의 태도를 강조하는 유형으로 윤리학적 내용을 함축한다고 보아야 한다. 하이데 거 철학의 윤리학적 차원을 해명하는 기존의 연구들은 하이데거 철학 의 기본얼개를 해명하고, 그 안에 어떤 윤리학적 차원이 존재하는지에 주로 주목해 왔다. 이 글은 그의 존재론이 제시하는 윤리학적 원리가 하이데거의 예술철학에 어떻게 동시에 적용될 수 있는지를 밝힌다. 그리고 하이데거의 예술철학에 윤리학적 요소가 적용될 때, 보다 실천적 인 방향으로 하이데거의 철학을 해석할 수 있는 여지가 생긴다고 주장 한다. 그리고 하이데거를 이와 같이 해석했을 때, 하이데거의 윤리학을 적용한 예술교육이 가능하다는 점 또한 자연스럽게 도출된다.
