The year 2021 is 30th anniversary that South and North Korea joined the United Nations same time. Simultaneously, in same year, in 1991, World Peace Federation President Sun Myung, Moon had historical meeting with President Il Sung, Kim in North Korea. In the meeting, President, Sun Myung, Moon made the agreement with President, Il Sung, Kim for core tasks as the reunion of separated families, Nuclear inspections, inter-Korean Economic cooperation, and the Inter-Korean summit meeting etc. In substance, the contents of agreement between Moon and Kim was practical tasks and unresolved problems of inter-Koreans for since division. However, even though celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Moon-Kim historical meeting for Korean peninsular is currently at a standstill toward peace and has not made much progress. So, this paper will examine the background, and historical implications of the Moon-Kim meeting, which had such a great influence on Korea peninsular and the international community, and what implications it has for overcoming inter-Korean relations and establishing peace on the Korean Peninsular.

2021년은 남북한 유엔 동시 가입 30주년이자, 세계평화연합의 문선명 총재가 북한을 방문하여 김일성 주석을 만나 합의문을 발표한지 30주년이다. 당시 문선명·김일성 회담에서 합의한 이산가족 상봉, 핵사찰, 남북경협, 남북정상회담은 지난 30년동안 남북관계의 핵심적인 실천과제였다. ‘문·김 회담’ 30주년을 맞이 하는 지금의 한반도는 평화를 향한 여정에서 현재 멈춰 서 있으며 큰 진전을 보여주지 못하고 있다. 이처럼 한국과 국제사회에 큰 영향력을 미친 문선명·김일성 회담의 배경과 과정, 역사적 함의를 살펴보고 30년이 지난 지금 남북관계를 타개하고 한반도 평화를 구축하는 데 어떤 함의가 있는지를 살펴보고자 한다.
