With the transition of the idea of educational penalty of punishment about criminals, personality education has been a key factor of correction for inmates. But, as the bureaucracy regime monopolizes the production of correction public goods, the bureaucratic various problems have arisen. As a result, private prison regimes have emerged worldwide since the 20th, and non-profit private prison has been opened in 2010 in korea. Korean private prison is operated as a differential personality programs, de-bureaucratic correction treatment, humanism correctional environment the national prison in korea, showing a much better performance than the national prison in terms of recidivism rate. Personality education of private prison is one of the reasons for such good performance, and there is an unusual personality education of the private prison which doesn’t exist in national prison, such as debate humanities personality program in addition to basic personality education similar to that of the national prison. But, existing studies of special personality programs in korean private prison have limitations of focusing on microscopic approaches in limited areas. Therefore, in this study, I asserted developmental implications for the direction of personality education in korean correction by deriving the improvement device of korean private prison personality programs in terms of microscopic, macroscopic aspects throughout the interdisciplinary access after pointing out the limitations of existing studies.

범죄인에 대한 형벌이념이 교육형주의로 이행되면서 인성교육은 교정의 핵심 적 요소로 되어 왔다. 그러나 인성교육을 포함한 교정공공재의 생산을 교정관료 레짐이 독점하다보니 여러 관료적 문제점이 발생해왔다. 이에 따라 20세기 이후 민영교정레짐이 세계적으로 대두되었으며 우리나라도 2010년 비영리형 민영교도 소(소망교도소)가 개소되어 국영교도소의 인성교육과 차별화된 프로그램과 탈관 료적 교정처우와 교정지향적인 인본적 교정환경으로 운영해오고 있으며 그 결과 출소자의 재범률에서 국영교도소보다 훨씬 좋은 성과를 보이고 있다. 이렇게 좋 은 성과를 보이는 원인의 하나로 소망교도소의 독특한 인성교육이 있는 바 민영 교도소의 인성교육에는 국영교도소와 유사한 기본 인성교육 외에 디베이트인문학 등 국영교도소에 없는 소망교도소 특유의 특수한 인성교육이 있는데 이것이 국영교도소의 인성교육과의 차이점이다. 이러한 소망교도소의 특수한 프로그램에 대한 선행연구들이 있지만 제한된 측면에서 미시적 접근에 치중하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 선행연구의 한계를 극복하고 학제적 방법으로 미시적, 거시적 측면에서 소망교도소(민영교도소)의 특수 인성프로그램의 내용과 문제점 및 개선방안을 도출하여 한국교정에서 인성교육의 나아갈 방향에 대한 발전적 시사점을 도출하였다.
