In recent years, the rapid development of ICT technology has had a major impact on traditional production and sales-oriented manufacturing industries, and the installation of smart factories in companies and major developed countries is becoming more active. The installation and operation of such a smart factory, companies will face a new security environment as various manufacturing facilities and devices are combined with ICT technology in real time. Considering this situation, research related to this has recently been activated mainly in advanced manufacturing countries, while it has been confirmed that even related research and trend analysis are relatively low in Korea. Therefore, this study examined the trend of technology development related to smart factory security based on 990 patents filed in five major countries before September, 2021. The results of this study are expected to be used not only to provide preemptive guides for future security activities of companies under a smart factory environment, but also to seek strategic directions for domestic smart factory security suppliers.

최근 ICT 기술의 급속한 발달은 전통적인 생산과 판매 중심의 제조업에도 많은 영향을 미치고 있으며, 이러한 변화에 대응하기 위한 기업 및 주요 선진국들의 스마트팩토리 도입은 더욱 활발 해 지고 있다. 이와 같은 스마트팩토리 도입에 따라 기업은 각종 제조 설비와 기기 등이 ICT 기 술과 실시간으로 접목되면서 새로운 보안 환경에 직면하게 되는데, 최근 제조 선진국들을 중심 으로 이와 관련된 연구가 한창인 반면 국내에서는 상대적으로 관련 연구 및 동향 분석조차 저조 한 것으로 확인되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 특허분석을 통해 스마트팩토리 보안 관련 기술개발 동향을 살펴보았다. 2021년 9월 1일 이전까지 주요 5개국에 출원된 특허 990건의 특허를 기반으로 연도별, 국가별, 기술별, 주요 수행 주체별 동향은 물론 주요출원국별 내외국인 출원 동향 등을 살펴보았다. 분 석결과 스마트팩토리 관련 보안에 관한 연구가 전 세계적으로 전개되고 있으며, 유럽과 일본 시 장을 중심으로 치열한 경쟁이 전개되고 있다는 점 또한 확인해 볼 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 스마트팩토리 환경하에서 기업의 미래 보안활동에 대한 선제적인 가이드를 제공할 수 있음은 물론, 국내 스마트팩토리 보안 공급 기업들의 전략방향 모색 등에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대 된다.
