Objectives This study attempted to interpret the educational meaning of expression activities in elementary sports education from the perspective of culture and arts education. Methods This study is a discourse analysis using a qualitative research method. Results The diversity of learning that should be pursued as integrated arts education in expressive activities, meaning as aesthetic experiential education to internalize aesthetic sensitivity, and finally, the meaning of what kind of reflective thinking is needed in future education is interpreted as a philosophical and cultural meaning. Conclusions This is believed to provide a foundation for promoting convergent thinking in the paradigm change of the educational environment, and it can be said that it presented a discussion point on the direction in which the expression area should be newly moved in elementary sports subjects.

본 연구는 초등체육교육에서 표현활동의 교육적 의미를 문화예술교육관점으로 해석하고자 한 것이다. 표현활동에 있어 통합예술교육으로 추구되어야 하는 학습에 대한 다양성, 심미적 감수성을 내면화하기 위한 미적 체험교육으로서의 의미, 마지막으로 미래교육에서 필요한 교육적 가치관이 어떠한 성찰적 사 고를 필요로 하는지에 대한 의미를 철학적, 문화적의미로 해석한 것이다. 이는 교육환경의 패러다임 변 화에 융합적 사고를 도모할 수 있는데 기반을 제공할 것으로 여겨지며 초등체육교과에서 표현영역이 새 롭게 나아가야 할 방향성에 대해 논의점을 제시하였다고 할 수 있을 것이다.
