In order for the information processing competency essential for the future society to be accepted in the school field, it is necessary to reconsider the concept of information processing competency, which has been limitedly interpreted in relation to statistical processing. The purpose of this study is to explore whether the information processing competency presented in the curriculum can be broadly interpreted from a cognitive psychology perspective. To this end, the concept of information processing competency discussed in information processing psychology was considered and based on this, the concept of information processing competency used in the teacher’s guidance book for the first semester of the sixth grade of the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum was analyzed. The analysis showed that textbook authors also tend to interpret information processing competency from an information processing psychological perspective. Finally, we developed and proposed specific examples on whether the reinterpreted information processing competency from an information processing psychological perspective could be implemented as elementary mathematical materials for teaching.

미래 사회에 필수적인 정보처리 능력이 학교현장에서 수용되기 위해서는 통계처리 와 관련하여 제한적으로 해석되고 있는 정보처리 능력의 개념을 재고할 필요가 있 다. 이 연구의 목적은 교육과정에 제시된 정보처리 능력이 인지심리학적 관점으로 확대 해석 가능한지 그 가능성을 탐색해 보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 정보처리 심리학 에서 논의되는 정보처리 능력의 개념을 고찰하고, 이를 바탕으로 2015 개정 초등수 학 6학년 1학기 교사용 지도서에 사용된 정보처리 능력의 개념을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 교과서 저자들도 정보처리 능력을 정보처리 심리학적 관점에서 해석하는 경 향이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 끝으로 정보처리 심리학적 관점에서 재해석된 정보처리 능력이 초등수학지도 소재로 구현 가능한지 구체적인 예시 자료를 개발하여 제안 하였다.
