The purpose of this paper is to examine the family homeostasis between generations of Shin Saimdang family and, thereby, find a way to improve the functions of modern families. The family homeostasis of Shin Saimdang’s family, which this article considered, is as follows. First, the idea of filial piety between its generations is manifested in their everyday lives. Second, in this family, learning and teaching were so emphasized that the morality of humanity was naturally embodied through its generations. Third, this family reveals an active approach in the changes of given situations rather than retrogressive one, which shows the moderate characteristics, emphasizing the timeliness. Fourth, Shin Saimdang’s family maintains polite interactions and harmonies between the family members, based on humanity and righteousness. Even for the modern families today, learning the intergenerational family homeostasis of Shin Saimdang's can give an ideological standard for resolving discords among family members and, if practiced continuously and repeatedly, present a daily routine based on trust as well.

이글의 목표는 신사임당의 세대 간 가족항상성을 고찰하여 현대 가정의 기능 향상을 도모하는 데 있다. 이 글이 고찰한 신사임당 가계의 가족항상성은 다음 과 같다. 첫째, 세대 간 효사상이 점철되어 일상적이다. 둘째, 가정 내에서 학 (學)과 교(校)를 중시하여 인륜(人倫)을 체화하도록 하였다. 셋째, 주어진 상황 변화에 대해 거스름 없이 능동적이며 이는 시의성을 강조한 중용(中庸)의 가치 가 있다. 넷째, 가족 구성원 간 예(禮)가 아우러져 화해(和諧)를 이루었다. 그리 고 그 바탕에는 인의(仁義)가 상존하고 있다. 현대가정에서도 신사임당의 세대 간 가족항상성을 익힌다면, 가족 구성원 간 불화를 해소하는 데 사상적 규준이 될 것이며 지속적·반복적으로 실천하면 신의를 바탕으로 하는 일상성이 될 것이다.
