This study howdiakonia is understood and what characteristics it has in the Pentecostal movement in light of the evangelical understanding of diakonia. First, in the study of evangelicalism, the study focuses on the Lausanne Movement. In the Pentecostal movement, how the early Pentecostals understood diakonia. It also studies how the understanding has changed up to the recent Progressive Pentecostal movement and what characteristics it exhibits different from evangelicalism. Although the Pentecostal movement is similar to evangelicalism in the diakonia aspect, it has distinctive features that are different from evangelicalism. First, the Pentecostal movement was a movement for the poor. Second, the diakonia of the Pentecostal movement showed the possibility of liberation from racial and sexual discrimination. Third, the Pentecostal movement sought to change the world through the Holy Spirit, the power of diakonia. The Holy Spirit is the subject of diakonia in the Pentecostal movement, which leads to individual spiritual liberation and liberation from structural injustice in society. The Pentecostal movement, which is still changing and maturing, is looking for a methodology that can cope with the reality and crisis of pluralism and postmodernism, which are characteristic of the 21st century. This movement must deal with and respond to various social problems arising from socio-economic and political changes. In this respect, Diakonia is expected to play an important role in the response.

이 논문은 복음주의의 디아코니아 이해에 비추어서 오순절주의에서 디아코니아가 어떻게 이해되고 있으며 어떤 특성을 가지고 있는지를 연구한다. 우선 복음주의를 연 구함에 있어서는 로잔운동을 중심으로 살펴본다. 오순절주의에 있어서는 사회봉사, 사 회정의와 정치 참여 등의 분야에서 오순절주의자들이 디아코니아를 어떻게 이해했는 지를 살펴보고 최근 진보적 오순절주의에 이르기까지 그 이해가 어떻게 변화했는지 그리고 복음주의와는 어떤 다른 특성을 보이는지를 연구한다. 디아코니아적인 측면에 서 오순절주의는 복음주의와 닮은 부분이 있지만 오순절주의만의 두드러진 특징들을 가지고 있다. 첫째, 오순절주의는 가난한 이들을 위한 운동이었다. 둘째, 오순절주의의 디아코니아는 인종과 성적 차별로 부터의 해방의 가능성을 보여주었다. 셋째, 오순절 주의는 디아코니아의 능력이신 성령을 통하여 세상의 변화를 추구하였다. 성령은 개 인의 영적 해방과 사회의 구조적 불의로부터의 해방을 이끄는 오순절주의에 있어서 디아코니아의 주체이다. 여전히 변화하고 성숙해 가는 오순절주의는 21세기의 특징인 다원주의와 포스트모더니즘의 현실과 위기에 대처할 수 있는 방법론을 모색하고 있다. 오순절주의는 사회경제적, 정치적 변화로 인해 발생하는 다양한 사회문제를 다루 어야 하며 이에 대응해야 하는데 디아코니아는 그 대응에 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 예상된다.
