One of the main goals of preaching is to connect the world of the biblical text with the world of the church congregation. To achieve this goal, the preacher must first secure the methodology of biblical interpretation from the right perspective and a balanced understanding of the situation of the audience. As a method of biblical interpretation from a legitimate point of view, the researcher presented a method of biblical interpretation from the perspective of ‘preaching intertextuality’. This methodology begins by first studying the context of the pre-text cited in the text. And the author’s awareness of the reader’s context is studied. Only then can we study the biblical text itself, which requires contextual, grammatical, and literary studies. Finally, the author’s intention to achieve (post-text) is derived, and the intention of the text is directly connected to the central idea of the text. For a balanced audience understanding, the researcher pursued a three-fold audience understanding. In the relation to God, the audience is a theological being, in the relation to the Bible, the audience is a hermeneutic being, and in the relation to the preacher, the audience is a communicative being. The audience, as a theological being, possesses the identity of covenant theology, but is in the paradoxical tension of faith because they are treading the order of salvation. The audience, as a hermeneutic being, has been relieved of tension with God through the Bible, but the tension with the Bible is still there. For this audience, the preacher must make the audience realize that they are standing on the line of redemptive history through the contextualization of the five-step logos. Audiences as communicative beings are affected by the speaker’s audience view and require effective communication strategies.

설교의 중요한 목표 가운데 하나는 성경 본문의 세계와 교회 청중의 세계를 연결해 주는 것이다. 이 목표를 이루기 위해서 설교자는 먼저 정당한 관점의 성경 해석 방법론과 청중에 대한 균형 잡힌 이해를 확보 해야 한다. 정당한 관점의 성경해석 방법론으로 연구자는‘설교학적 상호본문성’관점의 성경해석 방법론을 제시하였다. 이 방법론은 가장 먼저 본문에 인용된 선행 자료(pre-text)의 맥락을 연구하는 것으로 시작한다. 그리고 저자가 바라보는 독자의 상황 (context)을 연구한다. 그 후에는 성경 본문 자체를 연구하는데 여기에 문맥적, 문법적, 문학적 연구가 필요하다. 마지막으로는 저자가 달성하 고자 하는 의도(post-text)를 도출함으로 본문의 중심사상을 확보할 수 있다. 균형 잡힌 청중 이해를 위해서 연구자는 삼중관점의 청중 이해를 추 구하였다. 하나님과 청중의 관계에서 청중은 신학적 존재이며 성경과 청중의 관계에서 청중은 해석학적인 존재이며 설교자와 청중의 관계에 서 청중은 의사소통적인 존재로 볼 수 있다. 신학적 존재로서의 청중은 언약 신학의 정체성을 소유하였으나 구원의 서정을 밟고 있으므로 신앙의 역설적 긴장 속에 놓여 있다. 해석학 적 존재로서의 청중은 성경을 통해 하나님과의 긴장이 해소되었으나 성경과의 긴장은 여전히 남아 있는 존재이다. 이러한 청중을 위해서 설 교자는 5단계 로고스의 맥락화를 통해 청중이 구속사의 연장선에 서 있음을 깨닫게 해야 한다. 의사소통적 존재로서의 청중은 설교자의 청 중관에 영향을 받으며 효과적인 전달 전략이 필요한 대상들이다.
