For the development of Korea-China relations, this paper claims that Korea's establishment of a national interest-first strategy with China and equal Korea-China relations is the way to continue developmental Korea-China relations. To support this, the research analyzed the history of the development of Korea-China relations, the constraints of development, and aggressive diplomacy and economic retaliation as China became stronger. Finally, as an alternative to the next 30 years of Korea-China relations, it proposed establishing equal Korea-China relations, improving the structure of Korea-China economic cooperation, and changing the perception of China's role theory. In order for Korea-China relations to continue to develop amid changes in the strategic environment of the U.S.-China hegemony competition and China's strengthening, it is very important to acknowledge differences in ideology, system, and security between the two countries. They should also improve their economic cooperation structure to shift from quantitative growth to qualitative growth and seek a direction of development as complementary communities that share the benefits of peace and economic prosperity in Northeast Asia.

본 논문은 미중패권경쟁과 중국의 공세적 외교, 바이든 행정부의 출범과 미중의 지정학적 대결이라는 배 경하에, 한국이 국익 우선의 對中전략을 수립하여 대등한 한중관계를 정립하는 것이 양국의 발전을 지속하 는 길임을 주장하고자 한다. 이를 뒷받침하기 위해 한중관계 발전사와 양국 발전의 제약 요인, 중국의 강대국 화에 따른 공세적 외교와 경제보복을 분석하고 그 사례로 호주에 대한 중국의 경제보복을 통해 중국과의 급 격한 탈동조화와 그에 따른 어려움을 고찰하였다. 마지막으로 한중관계 미래 30년을 위한 대안으로 대등한 한중관계 설정, 한중 경제 협력 구조 개선, 중국역할론에 대한 인식 전환을 제시하였다. 한국과 중국은 수교 이후 탈냉전·세계화 시대가 제공하는 역사적 기회를 활용하여 비약적인 발전을 이루어왔지만 미중패권경쟁 과 중국의 강대국화라는 전략환경의 변화 속에서 한중관계가 발전을 지속하기 위해서는 양국 사이에 존재 하는 이념과 체제, 안보에 대한 전략적 관점의 차이를 인정하고 갈등을 조정·관리하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 또한 양국은 경제 협력 구조를 개선하여 질적 성장으로 전환하고 동북아 평화와 경제적 번영의 수혜를 함께 나누는 상호보완적 이익공동체로서 발전 방향을 모색해야 한다.
