Since 2021 commemorates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Father Choi Yang-eop, there is a need to compile and organize the historical materials related to him. This paper compiled the materials that have been introduced on Father Choi Yang-eop, identified their historical significance, and presented the prospects and tasks for discovering new historical materials in the future. Historical materials on Father Choi Yang-eop can be divided into the materials written by Father Choi Yang-eop himself and the materials written by others. The most well-known materials written by Father Choi Yang-eop are his letters, but there are other materials, including his Catholic gasa and translations. Materials written by others are further classified into materials written by the missionaries from the Society of Foreign Missions of Paris(MEP), testimonial records from Catholics, and oral records. This paper compiled and analyzed the historical materials on Father Choi Yang-eop according to the abovementioned classification and presented tables of the content and references of the materials in the appendix. Based on this analysis, this study presented the following research topics for future researchers. The search for more historical materials related to Father Choi Yang-eop should continue. Researchers should search for materials related to Father Choi Yang-eop from the Chinese Catholic Church. Their search should also encompass relevant government documents from France and other European countries as well as church documents. At the same time, scholars should also review existing materials. A standardization process to determine the bibliography and content of the historical materials should be conducted first. Finally, a new collection of materials should be published by reviewing existing materials, discovering new historical materials, standardizing the materials by gathering previously published materials and scattered materials.

최양업 신부 탄생 200주년인 2021년을 맞아 최양업 신부 관련 사료를 종합적으로 정리할 필요가 있다. 그래서 지금까지 소개된 자료를 정리하 여 그 역사적 의의를 밝히고, 향후 새로운 사료 발굴에 대한 전망과 과제를 제시했다. 최양업 신부 관련 사료는 최 신부가 작성한 자료와 다른 이들이 작성한 자료로 양분할 수 있다. 최 신부가 작성한 자료는 서한이 대표적이지만 서 한 외에도 천주가사, 번역문까지 포함된다. 다른 이들이 작성한 자료는 다 시 동료 파리외방전교회 선교사제들이 작성한 자료와 신자들의 증언 기록 과 구전 자료로 나누어진다. 이러한 분류에 따라 최양업 관련 사료를 정리, 검토했으며, 해당 자료들의 내용과 전거 등을 도표화하여 부록에 정리했다. 이러한 검토 작업을 바탕으로 앞으로의 과제를 제시한다면 다음과 같다. 최양업 신부 관련 사료를 계속 발굴해야 한다. 최양업 신부와 연관된 중국 천주교회의 자료를 검색해야 하고, 교회뿐 아니라 관련 있는 프랑스 와 다른 유럽 국가의 정부 문서도 포함시켜야 할 것이다. 동시에 기존 자료 에 대한 재검토 작업 역시 필요하다. 사료의 서지 사항과 내용을 확정하는 정본화(定本化) 작업이 우선적으로 진행되어야 한다. 마지막으로 기존 자 료의 재검토와 새로운 사료 발굴, 정본화 작업을 바탕으로 이미 자료집으 로 간행된 사료와 흩어져 있는 사료를 종합하여 새롭게 자료집을 편찬해 야 할 것이다.
