This study was conducted with a view to comparative analysis and bibliographical review of Inmulgo and Gukjoinmulgo which were published during Jeongjo period. Regarding the relationship between Inmulgo and Gukjoinmulgo, it is known that there is significant overlapping between these two in terms of order and persons Hence, as a result of comparative analysis of bibliographical parts (covering details on titles and authors) and content composition and description parts (covering range of records, structure of items, classification of items, recorded persons and post name writings and records of ‘three ministers’), it was found out that Gukjoinmulgo is not simply an imitation of Inmulgo. For example, 33 of total 49 (67.3%) items from Inmulgo and Gukjoinmulgo are in agreements between the two, whereas 16 items (32.7%) are in disagreements. Also, of 35 persons and 59 persons recorded at ‘three ministers’ part of Inmulgo and Gukjoinmulgo, the number of persons recorded on both documents is 8 from main article and 3 from its sequel, totalling 11. In other words, it was analyzed and reviewed that Inmulgo was formed as ground work by 18 subordinates and Gukjoinmulgo is the accomplished version published through referencing, revision, addition and reinvestigation of Inmulgo.

이 연구는 정조 년간 편찬의 ｢인물고｣와 ｢국조인물고｣를 비교 분석 및 서지적 관계 고찰을 목적으로 진행되 었다. ｢인물고｣와 ｢국조인물고｣의 관계에 대해서 ｢인물고｣와 ｢국조인물고｣의 편차와 인물의 중복이 큰 것으로 알려져 있다. 이에 서지적 부분(서명사항과 저자사항)과 내용 구성과 기술 부분(수록범위, 항목의 구성, 항목의 구분, ‘상신’의 수록 인물과 관직명 표기 및 기록)을 비교 분석한 결과 ｢국조인물고｣가 ｢인물고｣를 답습하였다고 볼 수 없음을 발견하였다. 그 예로 ｢인물고｣와 ｢국조인물고｣의 전체 항목 49개 중 약 33개(67.3%)는 일치하고, 16개(32.7%)는 구성 유무의 차이가 있다. 또한 ｢인물고｣와 ｢국조인물고｣ ‘상신’에 수록된 35명과 59명의 인물 중 두 문헌에 모두 기록된 인물은 본고의 8명과 속고의 3명으로 총 11명이다. 즉, ｢인물고｣는 18명의 신하들에 의하여 기초 작업 성격으로 이루어진 것이고, ｢국조인물고｣는 ｢인물고｣를 참고, 수정 및 추가와 재조사 등의 작업을 거쳐 편찬된 완성본임을 분석하였다.
