The purpose of this study is to analyze the experience of prospective secondary school teachers during COVID-19 and analyze the educational meaning by drawing implications for the operation of secondary education practices. To this end, reflective writing and ill-structured questionnaire responses of 40 prospective secondary school teachers attending H University were analyzed using frequency analysis and text mining techniques. According to the analysis, due to the influence of COVID-19, there were cases where face-to-face classes and non face-to-face classes were not available during the teaching practicum period, and there were often no opportunities for student counseling. The meaning of the educational practice was found to be a time to gain confidence in the teaching profession, to contemplate career decisions, to improve and gain worth, and to motivate and change the perception of secondary school teachers. The skills required by teachers were organized into 7 categories included expertise in contents knowledge. It was found that more practical education support and preparations for online classes were needed as the educational support that universities should provide before training. Also, the difficulties that they experienced during the training included reflecting and solving real-life classroom experiences, efforts to effectively engage students in classes, building relationships with students, confusion and difficulties due to non face-to-face classes, and the lack of feedback and communication due to the limited opportunities for education practice. Based on the research results, discussions and suggestions on the improvement of the secondary education teaching practicum system were proposed.

본 연구는 COVID-19 속 중등 예비교사들의 교육실습 경험을 분석하여 교육적 의미를 분 석하고 중등 교육실습 운영에 주는 시사점을 도출하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 H대학교에 재학 중인 중등 예비교사 40명의 반성적 글쓰기와 비구조화된 설문지 응답을 빈도분석과 텍 스트마이닝 기법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 COVID-19의 영향으로 교육실습 동안 대 면 수업과 비대면 수업을 병행하거나 직접 수업을 하지 못한 예도 있었으며, 학생상담의 기 회 역시 없는 경우가 많았다. 교육실습의 의미는 교직에 대한 확신을 가진 시간, 진로 결정에 대한 고민의 시간, 성장과 보람의 시간, 중등교사에 대한 인식의 변화와 동기를 부여하는 시 간으로 나타났으며 교사에게 필요한 역량은 교수내용지식에 대한 전문성을 비롯하여 7개로 정리되었다. 교육실습 전 대학의 교육지원으로는 실질적이면서 온라인 수업을 대비한 교육지 원이 필요한 것으로 나타났으며, 교육실습과정의 어려운 점으로 실제 수업 경험에 대한 반성 과 해결해가는 과정에 대한 어려움, 수업에서 효과적으로 학생들을 참여하게 하는 방법에 대 한 고민, 학생과의 관계 형성을 위한 노력, 비대면 수업을 진행함에 따른 혼란과 어려움, 제 한적인 교육실습 기회에 따른 피드백과 소통 부족이 나타났다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 중등 교 육실습제도의 개선에 대한 논의와 시사점을 제안하였다.
