The study of history can be said frequently to be the study of the elite. Although much data have been accumulated regarding the elite in traditional Korea, the best information is the state exam records in Goryeo and Joseon, that is, the Bangmok (榜目). There are several types of Bangmok, which included all candidates passing the national examination during the Joseon Dynasty. On the other hand, as there is no known Bangmok summarizing all successful exam candidates in the Goryeo Dynasty, many researchers have attempted to synthesize information on the state exam passers of the Goryeo and Joseon Dynasties with reference to a variety of historical documents. However, it is difficult to find a comprehensive summary of the elites of Goryeo and Joseon who entered government offices through examinations because there are too many documents for individual researchers to study, and in particular, it is difficult to confirm the identities of successful candidates, as many important documents were lost during the Goryeo Dynasty. Therefore, collecting the Bangmok of Goryeo and Joseon as a whole and organizing them into a unified format also helps us recover the elite network of that time. However, as the quantity of data from the Goryeo Dynasty is much smaller than from the Joseon Dynasty, it is important to study other sets of data, even if only partially complete, to collect information on successful candidates for national examinations. This paper thus introduces the Deungwarok Jeonpyon, which was the basis for the study of state examinations in the Goryeo Dynasty, and then seeks to clarify its value by estimating the used in its publication and its publication date.

전통시대 역사 연구는 엘리트에 대한 연구라고 할 수 있다. 전통시대 엘리트 정 보가 집적된 자료는 많지만 엘리트 명단이 가장 일목요연하게 정리된 자료는 고려 와 조선에서 시행된 과거시험 합격자 정보, 즉 방목(榜目)이라고 할 수 있다. 조선 시대 문과 급제자 전체를 정리한 국조방목은 여러 종류가 전해진다. 반면 고려시 대 급제자 전체를 정리한 방목은 알려진 것이 없다. 그래서 여러 가지 자료를 종합 하여 고려와 조선시대 과거 급제자 정보를 종합적으로 정리하려고 많은 연구자들 이 시도하였다. 하지만 과거를 통해 관직에 진출한 고려와 조선의 엘리트들을 종 합적으로 정리한 사례는 드물다. 연구자 개인이 수행하기에는 검토해야 할 자료가 너무 방대하기 때문이다. 특히 고려시대 중요 사료는 대부분 소실되어 급제자 정 보를 복원하기도 쉽지 않다. 과거 급제자 정보는 급제자 개인에 대한 자세한 정보와 함께 친가, 처가, 외가의 관계정보를 확인할 수 있는 중요한 정보이다. 따라서 고려 과거 및 조선 문무과, 사마, 잡과 방목들을 전체적으로 수집하여 통일된 체제로 정리하는 것은 엘리트 관계망을 복원하는 것이기도 하다. 그런데 고려시대의 과거 급제자 정보는 조선시대에 비해 정리된 수량이 매우 적다. 따라서 과거 급제자 정보가 수록된 다양한 자료를 함께 연구하는 것이 중요 하다. 이 논문은 고려 시대 과거 급제자의 정리를 위해 기본이 되는 『등과록전편』에 대한 연구이다. 그러나 『등과록전편』이 사료로서 중요함에도 불구하고 관련 연 구는 많지 않다. 그래서 『등과록전편』을 소개한 후, 이 책의 간행에 이용된 자료 및 간행 시기 등을 추정함으로써 이 책의 가치를 파악하는데 기여하고자 한다.
