This study aims to conduct onsite practice and experiences with non-disabled children who have disabled siblings and identify the meaning and essence of the experience. To achieve these aims, this study selected six master’s course students who have experienced with non-disabled children with disabled siblings through art therapy based on hermeneutic phenomenological methods of Max van Manen. Afterwards, the collected data led to the derivation of seven themes and 19 sub-themes through the analytic method of van Manen. The results of this study are as follows: First, the master’s course students tried to see children as independent persons while understanding children and parents within the family system with disabled children on the site of art therapy given to non-disabled children. Second, the master’s course students not only promoted in-depth internal expressions through art in art therapy for non-disabled children with disabled siblings but also discovered the meaning of healing rather than art activities and images. Third, the master’s course students practiced self-awakening that must be held by art therapists by continually exploring the emotions and thoughts that occurred to them during practice with non-disabled children with disabled siblings. This study is meaningful in that it has provided basic data that can be used on the site of art therapy for non-disabled children with disabled siblings by analyzing the experiences of the master’s course students and providing practical understanding.

본 연구는 미술치료 석사과정생이 장애를 진단받은 형제자매가 있는 비장애 아동의 현장실 습 경험과 그 경험의 의미와 본질을 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 Max van Manen의 해석학적 현상학적 연구방법에 근거하여 장애를 가진 형제자매가 있는 비장애 아동과 미술치료 실습을 경험한 석사과정생 6명을 참여자로 선정하였다. 이후 수집된 자료들은 van Manen의 분석과정을 거쳐 본질적 주제 7개와 하위 주제 19개로 도출되었다. 이에 따른 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 석사과정생들은 비장애 아동과의 미술치료 현장실습에서 장애아동의 가족체계 내에서 아동과 부모를 이해하는 동시에, 아동을 독립된 존재로 바라보려 는 노력을 하였다. 둘째, 석사과정생들은 장애형제가 있는 비장애 아동과의 미술치료에서 미술 로 깊숙한 내면 표현을 촉진하였을 뿐만 아니라, 그 안에서 미술 활동과 이미지가 지닌 치유적 의미를 발견하였다. 셋째, 석사과정생은 장애형제가 있는 비장애 아동과의 실습에서 자신에게 올라오는 감정과 생각을 지속적으로 탐색함으로써, 미술치료사가 반드시 갖추어야 할 자기각성 을 실천하였다. 본 연구는 장애형제가 있는 비장애 아동과의 미술치료 실습에 대한 석사과정생 의 경험을 분석하여 실제적인 이해를 제공함으로써 장애형제가 있는 비장애 아동 미술치료 현 장에서 활용할 수 있는 기초자료를 마련했다는 데 의의가 있다.
