With the transition from paint to materials in advanced apartment houses elevation finishing methods, many changes are occurring in the way colors are used. Therefore, in this study, color usage methods were analyzed for 15 apartment houses in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, a new town near Barcelona in Spain. As a result, it was found that the multi-layered presentation method of the elevation is the most common method of choosing paint color that matches the color of the material and the method of using color that matches the detail of finishing the material. Second, most of the materials and colors of the achromatic series without a symbol or accent color representing the characteristics of the complex were used. Third, a method of emphasizing architectural elements or grouping architectural elements to form simple details was emerging. Fourth, as the material was distributed more outside than the color, the method of using color that was closely linked with the finishing method of the material and the method of using color mainly related to the architectural elements appeared. Fifth, there was almost no introduction of graphics or signs considering the perception of residents. As such, the material-based linkage composition method is the most characteristic method of using materials and colors in this area, and it is considered as a new system of advanced apartment houses elevation composition.

선진 공동주택 입면 마감 방식이 페인트에서 재료로 전환되면서 색채사용방식에 많은 변화가 나타 나고 있다. 따라서 이번 연구에서 바르셀로나 근교의 신도시인 루스피탈레트 데 류브레가트 (L'Hospitalet de Llobregat)지역 15개 공동주택을 대상으로 색채사용방식을 분석하였다. 그 결과 재료 색채에 부합되는 페인트 색채선택과 재료 마감 방식에 부합되는 색채사용방식으로 입면의 다층적 변화를 드러내는 연출 방식의 색채사용방식이 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 단지의 특징을 나타내 는 상징색이나 강조색 없고 무채색계열의 재료와 색채가 대부분 사용되고 있었다. 셋째, 건축요소를 강조하거나 건축요소들을 그루핑하여 단순한 디테일로 구성하는 방식이 나타나고 있었다. 넷째, 재료 가 색채보다 외부에 많이 분포되면서 재료의 마감 방식과 긴밀하게 연계된 건축요소를 고려한 색채사 용방식이 나타나고 있었다. 다섯째, 거주자의 인지를 고려한 그래픽이나 사인의 도입은 거의 없었다. 이처럼 재료를 기반으로 하는 색채의 연계적 입면 구성방식은 이 지역의 가장 특징적인 색채사용방식 으로, 선진적 공동주택 입면의 전환적 관점을 잘 드러낸다.
