Until now, error and mistranslation have been considered different concepts and categories. One of the reasons is that till now, native Japanese speakers and Non-native Japanese speakers have been given the same treatment in large scheme of error analysis. But on second thought there are noticeable differences in error analysis between them, thus, we should study the differences aiming at error and mistranslation. Generally speaking, when translating, there is a process that people translate a language into mother tongue and translate mother tongue into a language. It will be less or none potential for errors when translating a language into mother tongue, if we have fully aware of its culture background and meaning. On the contrary, when translating mother tongue into another language, it will be completely different. In other words, there will be less or none wrong understanding of mother tongue when translating it into another language, however, we cannot deny that in a translation with other language, there will be several errors because of error. In this thesis, by analyzing translation theories and the practical examples of Chinese-Japanese translation, the writer will put forward an idea that misinterpreting of non-native Japanese speakers is close to error or a form of error and it is necessary to give consideration to above-mentioned situation in upcoming research about error.

今まで言語学分野における誤用と誤訳は全く異なる範疇に属し、その概念も異なる ものと見なされてきている。その理由の１つは今日に至るまで誤用分析において母語 話者と非母語話者を区別せずに一律に誤用分析という大きなフレームの中で見てきた からである。ところが、母語話者と非母語話者の間には著しい差が見られる。したがって、誤用と誤訳の関連についてもこのような差を認め、改めて考察する必要があるように思われる。 通常、通訳や翻訳をする場合、母語以外の言語を母語に訳する過程と母語を他言語に訳する過程があるが、その他の言語を自分の母語に訳する際にはその言語の意味と文化的背景を熟知していていれば、誤訳が生じる比率はほぼないか、大変少ないが、その反対に母語を他言語に訳する際には、他言語に訳された訳文にはいろいろな問題が生じ得ることは否めない事実である。このような問題は主として言葉の不正確な使い方として浮き彫りにされると思われる。

지금까지 언어학 분야에서의 오용과 오역은 완전히 다른 범주에 속하고, 그 개념도 다르다고 간주되어 왔다. 그 이유의 하나는 오늘날에 이르기까지 오용 분석에 있어서 모어 화자와 비모어화자를 구별하지 않고 일률적으로 같은 오용 분석이라는 큰 틀에서 동등하게 보아 연구해 왔기 때문이다. 그러나, 자세히 살펴보면 오용 분석에 있어서 모어 화자와 비 모어 화자의 사이에는 현저한 차이가 보인다. 따라서 오용과 오역 문제에 있어서도 이러한 차이를 인식하여 생각하고 분석을 해 볼 필요가 있다. 일반적으로 통역이나 번역을 할 때 모어 이외의 언어를 모어로 번역하는 과정과 모어를 기타 언어로 번역하는 과정이 있는데, 기타 언어를 모어로 번역할 때는 기타 언어의 뜻과 그 언어의 문화적인 배경을 숙지한다면 오역이 나타날 확률이 대체적으로 거의 없거나, 매우 적다. 반대로 모어를 다른 언어로 번역할 때는 양상이 완전히 다르다. 다시 말하면 모어를 다른 언어로 번역할 때는 자기 모어에 대한 부정확한 이해는 거의 없거나 매우 적겠지만, 다른 언어로 번역된 번역문에는 문제점이 많이 나타날 수 있다는 점이다. 이러한 문제점은 대부분 언어의 부정확한 사용으로 나타난다고 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 중국어 모어 화자의 중일 번역에 있어서의 오역 현상을 둘러싸고 번역이론과 중일 번역의 실제 용례에 대한 분석을 통하여 일본어 비모어화자의 오역은 단순한 오역이 아니라, 오용에 더 가깝거나 오용의 일종이라는 점을 제기하고 앞으로의 오용연구에 있어서도 이러한 점을 감안해야 한다는 점을 강조했다.
