The present study was aimed to investigate the relations among social support, cognitive strategies and post traumatic growth, and the effects of social support and cognitive strategies on post-traumatic growth. Based on prior research and theoretical basis, we set up a causal structural model in which social support affects post-traumatic growth through cognitive strategies. A survey was conducted on 73 North Korean refugee Adolescents using questionnaires of Social support, Cognitive Emotion Regulation(CERQ), Posttraumatic Growth Inventory(PTGI). We conducted basic statistical analysis and correlation analysis using SPSS to verify research hypothesis, and the PROCESS MACRO was used to validate the mediate model. The results were as follows. 1) Social support, positive cognitive strategies and post traumatic growth all showed a positive correlation with each other. However, it has been shown that negative cognitive strategies are not significant in relation to social support and post-traumatic growth. 2) T-test was conducted to examine the differences in post-traumatic growth of North Korean refugee Adolescents based on their gender and religious presence, and found that there were no significant differences in post-traumatic growth in both factors. 3) As a result of verifying a parallel mediate model with Model 4 of PROCESS MACRO, the fully mediated effect of positive cognitive strategies has been verified in the relationship between social support and post-traumatic growth. Finally, the implications and limitations of this study and suggestions for future research are discussed.

본 연구에서는 탈북청소년의 사회적지지, 인지적 처리방략, 외상 후 성장의 관계, 그리고 사회적 지지와 인지적 처리방략이 외상 후 성장에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보았다. 선행연구 및 이론적 근거를 바탕으로 사회적 지지가 인지적 처리방략을 통해 외상 후 성장에 영향을 미치는 인과적 구조모형을 설정하고, 이를 검증하기 위해 탈북청소년 73명을 대상으로 사회적 지지 척도, 인지적 처리방략 척도, 외상 후 성장척도를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구가설을 검증하기 위해 SPSS를 활용한 기초통계분석 및 상관 분석을 실시했으며, Hayes의 PROCESS Macro를 사용하여 매개모형을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구에서 사용한 주요 변인들 간의 관계를 살펴보기 위해 상관 분석을 실시한 결과, 사회적 지지, 적응적인 인지적 처리방략, 외상 후 성장은 통계적으로 유의한 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나, 부적응적인 인지적 처리방략은 사회적 지지 및 외상 후 성장과 상관이 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 탈북청소년의 성별과 종교유무에 따른 외상 후 성장의 차이를 살펴보기 위해 T-검증을 실시한 결과, 두 가지 요인 모두에서 외상 후 성장에 유의미한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 주요 변인 간의 구조적인 관계를 살펴보기 위해 PROCESS Macro의 Model 4를 사용하여 병렬매개모형을 검증한 결과, 사회적 지지와 외상 후 성장의 관계에서 적응적인 인지적 처리방략의 완전 매개 효과가 검증되었다. 즉, 사회적 지지를 많이 받을수록 적응적인 인지적 처리방략을 많이 사용함으로써 외상 후 성장에 이르게 됨을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 인지적 처리방략의 중요성을 부각시킴으로써 탈북청소년의 상담과 치료에 중요한 임상적인 함의를 제공한다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 한계와 추후 연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.
