This paper aims to analyze the current status of Korean calligraphy education programs and propose policy directions. First of all, the subjects of the survey were selected as institutions and organizations that operate and support calligraphy education programs, and the time range of the survey was limited from January 1, 2018 to February 28, 2021. A total of 468 places were selected for investigation, including the government, national and public museums and art galleries, Arco, Arte, Cultural Foundation, Metropolitan City and Provincial Cultural Center, and Biennales and Associations in 17 administrative districts. Among the non-probability table collection methods, the Convenience Sampling Method for research purposes was used, and the survey period was conducted from January 10 to February 28, 2021. A total of 468 subjects and scope of the survey were surveyed, but a total of 189 were used in the analysis, excluding 279 institutions deemed insincere or unreliable. The government supports the operation of programs by institutions and organizations, and the museum has recently operated calligraphy education programs in 16 places, and its great advantage is that it has various subjects and contents of education. Arte is in the process of a support project called "Dream Saturday Culture School," which has led eight institutions and organizations to run calligraphy education programs for children and teenagers. The advantage of the Cultural Foundation and the City Cultural Center is that a large number of programs are running, and most of them are writing-oriented classes. As an association, the Korean Calligraphy Association runs a Hangul Calligraphy class for locals at the Korean Education Center in New Zealand, leading the distribution of Hangul calligraphy and globalization. A total of three policy directions for calligraphy education programs were proposed. Identification of content differentiation in program development, introduction of program reflux procedures, program development from a learner's perspective and sustainability guarantee. Performance accumulation is needed to be differentiated in program development, reflux procedures for class content should be established, and calligraphy education program development methods, procedures and formats should also be changed for the future. This would ensure the quality and sustainability of the calligraphy education programme.

본 논문은 한국 서예교육 프로그램의 현황을 분석하고, 정책방향을 제안하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 먼저 조사 대상은 서예교육 프로그램을 운영 및 지원하는 기관 및 단체로 선정 하였고, 조사 대상의 시간적 범위는 2018년 1월 1일부터 2021년 2월 28일까지로 한 정하였다. 조사대상은 정부와 국·공립 박물관 및 미술관, 아르코, 아르떼, 문화재단, 광역 시·도 문화원 연합회 또는 17개 행정구역 소재의 시도문화원, 비엔날레와 협회 등 총 468곳을 선정하였다. 조사대상의 표집방법은 비확률표집방법 중, 연구목적에 따 른 편의표본추출법 (Convenience Sampling Method)을 이용하였으며, 조사기간 은 2021년 1월 10일부터 2월 28일에 걸쳐 조사를 실시하였다. 조사대상 및 범위는 총 468곳이었으나, 불성실하거나 신뢰성이 없다고 판단되는 기관 279곳을 제외하여 총 189곳이 분석에 사용되었다. 정부는 기관 및 단체의 프로그램 운영을 지원하고 있으며, 박물관은 최근 16곳 에서 서예교육 프로그램을 운영하였고, 수강대상과 교육내용이 다양하다는 점이 큰 장 점이다. 아르떼는 ‘꿈다락 토요문화학교’라는 지원사업을 진행 중에 있으며, 이를 통해 8개의 기관 및 단체가 아동·청소년을 위한 서예교육 프로그램을 운영하였다. 문화재단 과 시도문화원은 많은 수가 프로그램을 운영하고 있는 게 장점이며, 대부분이 쓰기위 주의 수업이라는 게 큰 한계이다. 협회로는 한국서예협회가 뉴질랜드 한국교육원에서 현지인을 대상으로 하는 한글 서예반을 운영하여, 한글 서예 보급과 세계화를 선도하 고 있다. 서예 교육프로그램 정책방향은 총 3가지로 제안하였다. 프로그램 개발에 있어서 내용적 차별성 파악, 프로그램의 환류절차 도입, 학습자 입장에서의 프로그램 개발 및 지속가능성 보장이다. 프로그램 개발에 있어서 차별성을 가지기 위해 성과축적이 필요 하고, 수업내용에 대한 환류절차가 구축되어야 하며, 미래를 위해 서예교육 프로그램 개발방법과 절차, 형식 또한 달라져야한다. 이렇게 된다면 서예교육 프로그램의 질적 담보와 지속가능성이 보장될 것이다.
