This paper analyzes the characteristics of Criticism Speech Act in news comments appearing on the internet portal website DAUM. ‘Criticism speech’, which tends to appear frequently in cyberspace, is a negative and extreme manifestation of verbal behavior in virtual space in which the emotions are freely expressed towards specified or unspecified people. Not only is ‘criticism speech’ in the news comments prevalent, but it is also characterized by a combination of ‘curse + sarcasm + anger’ etc. to increase in intensity. The characteristics of the comments in the news articles on DAUM's main page from December 23 to December 27, 2020 were found to be as follows. First, the direction of criticism varied widely. A range of criticisms were directed towards journalists and newspaper companies, as well as key figures, secondary figures, and third parties mentioned in the articles. The subtypes of the criticism speech included the various elements of ‘sarcasm, insults, slander, reproach, anger, ridicule, malediction, disappointment’, and so on. Also, there were cases in which two or more subtypes were used in combination to increase in intensity. Initially, two to three subtypes were used in a combination to strengthen criticisms, and 'ID' was also used to reinforce such criticism.

이 논문은 인터넷 포털사이트 다음(DAUM)의 뉴스댓글에 나타나는 비난 화행의 특징을 분석한 것이다. ‘비난화행’은 사이버공간에서 빈도 높게 나 타나는 경향이 있다. 가상공간에서 특정, 불특정 상대에게 말하고 싶은 대로 감정을 표출하는 언어적 행위가 부정적, 과격하게 나타나는 것이다. 뉴스댓글의 ‘비난화행’은 양이 많다는 것뿐만 아니라 ‘욕설+비아냥+분노’ 등이 복합적으로 사용되어 강화된다는 특징도 있다. 2020년 12월 23일~27일 까지 다음(DAUM) 첫 화면의 뉴스기사에 대한 댓글의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 비난의 방향이 매우 다양하다. 기사에 나오는 주요 인물, 부차적 인물, 제삼자를 비난할 뿐만 아니라 기자, 신문사에 대한 비난도 자주 나타 난다. 둘째, 비난화행의 하위유형으로는 ‘비아냥, 모욕, 비방, 질책, 분노, 조롱, 악담, 실망’ 등이 다양하게 나타난다. 셋째, 두 개 이상의 하위유형을 복합적으로 사용하며 강화하는 현상을 보였다. 먼저, 2개~3개의 하위유형을 복합적으로 사용하여 비난을 강화하고, ‘아이디’도 비난하기를 강화하는 데 사용한다.
