To enhance the utility and efficiency of the instruction manuals enclosed in danso (a short bamboo flute) as a teaching aid, this study examines the status of its use targeting students who own the danso instruction manuals. By analyzing its contents, the study suggests how to solve the problems found in the contents. First, according to the results of investigating the status of using the instruction manuals, students tended to use the manual to get help with playing danso and used it by their own will. There was no significant difference between the cases where the manual helped learning and the cases where it did not. The helpful parts in learning were fingering and the acquisition of yulmyeong mostly. The reason why the rest parts were not helpful was students had difficulty understanding the contents of the manuals. Next, the contents of the danso instruction manuals were analyzed by classifying them into the names of the parts, fingering, yulmyeong, fingering by yulmyeong, register, how to make sound, playing posture, repertoire, expression, practice, octave division, jeongganbo, and so on. The analysis showed a difference in the forms of marking the contents, the scope of inclusion, ways of writing, and methods of organization for each manual. Also, this study presented the problems revealed in the names of the parts, fingering, yulmyeong, fingering by yulmyeong, register, how to make sound, playing posture, repertoire, expression, practice, octave division, jeongganbo, and so on and solutions for them. Concerning the problems such as typographical errors in the contents, absence of inclusion, and incomplete description and organization, it suggested the direction of supplementation and revision mainly grounded on the contents of music textbooks or danso handbooks. As the instruction manuals enclosed in danso as a teaching aid influence learning considerably, it is needed to pay constant attention to the manuals and also develop discussion on other components and accessaries used in danso learning.

본고는 교구용 단소에 동봉된 설명서의 활용도와 효율성을 높이고자, 단소 설명서를 소지 한 학생들을 대상으로 활용 현황을 파악하고, 단소 설명서에 수록된 내용 분석을 통해, 내용 에서 발견되는 문제점의 개선 방안을 제시한 연구이다. 먼저 단소 설명서의 활용 현황을 조사한 결과, 단소 연주에 도움을 받기 위해 단소 설명서 를 활용하는 경우가 많았으며, 주로 학습자 스스로의 의지에 의해 활용되고 있었다. 설명서 의 학습 도움 여부는 학습에 도움이 된 경우와 그렇지 않은 경우가 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 학습에 도움이 된 부분은 운지법이나 율명 습득이 대부분을 차지하였으며, 도움이 되지 않았 던 이유로는 설명서 내용의 이해가 어려웠기 때문으로 파악되었다. 다음으로 단소 설명서의 내용을 부분별 명칭ㆍ안공법ㆍ율명ㆍ율명별 운지법ㆍ음역ㆍ소리 내는 법ㆍ연주자세ㆍ연주곡ㆍ표현법ㆍ연습법ㆍ옥타브 구분법ㆍ정간보ㆍ기타 등으로 분류하여 분석한 결과, 내용의 표기 형식ㆍ수록 범위ㆍ기재 방식ㆍ구성 방법 등에서 설명서별 차이 를 보였다. 또한 부분별 명칭ㆍ안공법ㆍ율명ㆍ율명별 운지법ㆍ음역ㆍ소리 내는 법ㆍ연주자세ㆍ연주곡ㆍ표현법ㆍ연습법ㆍ옥타브 구분법ㆍ정간보ㆍ기타 등에서 드러나는 문제점과 개선 방안을 제시한 결과, 내용의 표기 오류, 수록 부재, 기재 및 구성 미비 등의 문제점에 대해 주로 음악 교과서나 단소교본 등의 내용을 근거로 보완 및 수정 방향을 제안하였다. 교구용 단소에 동봉된 설명서가 학습에 상당한 영향을 미치고 있는 만큼 단소 설명서에 대한 꾸준한 관심이 지속되어야함은 물론, 설명서외 단소 학습에 활용되고 있는 여타 구성품 에 대한 논의 또한 전개되어야 할 것이다.
