This study is about the physical score of the Odin Teatret training method of Eugeneo Barba, who is the founder of theatrical anthropology. As a researcher, I participated in ‘The Versatility of the Score’ by Odin Teatret from February to March 2020 in Holsterbo, Denmark. Based on this experience at Odin at this time, I trained and reinterpreted the physical scores for actors in the showcase titled , which was performed as a co-production between Korea and Denmark in October 2020. This study includes discussions with actors and practical experiences while creating a common language using physical scores in the performance of . I would like to share this study with the attempts to reinterpret the acting methods accumulated by the actors of the Odin Teatret and the methods of Odin accumulated through actor training to suit the Korean situation. , performed at Theater 1 in the Gwangju Asian Arts Center, was dramatised by creating a common language through the physical scores of Kalaripayattu and Tai Chi, and creating scores that fit the characters based on individual specialties. Through this process, the physical scores of had the effect of creating a unique atmosphere of the entire play and experiencing the characteristics of the score that became stronger as they performed it. As a result of this study, it was found that any sequence of physical actions can be created by applying the three key principles such as repetition, division, and confrontation of the physical score. In addition, the possibility of reaching a psychophysical state with an ‘extra-daily technique’ based on through the restriction of body parts both the interaction training with the other roles and the improvisation training was found. Through this study, it is expected that Korean actors and artists would understand the score trainings of Odin Teatret and apply the score method to new creative work.

본 연구는 연극 인류학을 창시한 유제니오 바르바(Eugenio Barba)의 오딘 극단 훈련법 중 피지컬 스코어(physical score)에 대한 논문이다. 연구자는 2020년 2월부터 3월까지 덴마크 홀스테브로(Holstebro) 오딘 극단에의 ‘공동생활(cohabitation)-스코어의 다재(Versatility of the Score)’ 워크숍을 참여하였다. 이때의 오딘에서의 경험을 바탕으로 연구자는 2020년 10월에 한국과 덴마크 공동 창·제작 사업으로 공연된 <전쟁의 슬픔>에서 연기자들에게 피지컬 스코어를 훈련하고 재해석했다. 이 연구는 <전쟁의 슬픔> 공연에서 피지컬 스코어를 활용하여 공동 언어 및 개인 언어를 창조하는 동안 연기자들과의 논의 및 실질적 경험에 관한 내용을 담고 있다. 본 연구를 통하여, 오딘 극단의 연기자들이 추구하는 연기법과 전통을 통해 축적된 오딘의 메소드를 한국 실정에 맞게 재해석한 시도에 대해 공유하고자 한다. 광주 아시아 예술의 전당의 제1 극장에서 공연된 <전쟁의 슬픔>은 칼라리빠야뚜와 태극권의 피지컬 스코어를 통해 공동 언어를 창출했고 개인의 특기를 바탕으로 캐릭터에 맞는 스코어를 창조하여 극화하였다. 스코어를 활용한 <전쟁의 슬픔>에서 피지컬 스코어는 극 전체의 독창적인 분위기를 창조하였고 행하면 할수록 더 강해지는 스코어의 특성을 경험하는 효과를 가졌다. 본 연구를 통해, 어떠한 형태의 움직임 시퀀스일지라도 반복, 분할, 대립의 세 가지 기본 원리를 적용하여 피지컬 스코어로 창조될 수 있는 것을 발견하였다. 더하여 상대 배역과 상호작용을 통한 교감 훈련과 신체 부위의 제약을 통한 즉흥 훈련을 바탕으로 ‘초일상적 기술(extra-daily technique)’을 가진 심리신체학적인(psychophysical) 상태에 도달할 수 있는 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해, 한국의 연기자들과 예술가들이 오딘 극단의 스코어 훈련법을 이해하고 새로운 창작 작업에 스코어를 적용할 수 있기를 기대한다.
