The research looks into the definition of arts education for elderly people in a light of raising civil artists. Under the purpose of this it selects retirees from old people who are driving forces of our societies and at the same time main agents building local communities. The main unit of this research's qualitative case study method is the "senior citizen" and the smallest unit is the "senior citizen interested in arts education." In addition to these two units, civic surveys, interviews were combined to produce results as intermediate units. It attempts to build a program enabling them not only to start their second lives but also to connect them to young people and the next generation. To improve qualities of old people’s lives. attentions from local societies are needed to pay and it is important for them to benefits from participating the program. It also matters that arts education for elderly people becomes popular and that other communities for them can be formed. It investigates effects given by a desirable arts education for elderly people. It hopes that it can be a benchmark for other communities as retiree program, and to contribute to increase awareness from societies of their wellbeing in the age of population aging. I hope that it helps retirees to live healthy lives.

이 연구는 바람직한 노인문화예술교육 프로그램의 방향성을 제시하고 활성화하기 위한 기 초자료를 제공하기 위한 목적으로 <노인을 위한 나라는 없DA> 프로젝트에서 수행한 프로그 램 기획과정과 지역사회 인식조사에 대하여 분석한 사례연구이다. 본 연구의 질적사례연구법 의 주요단위는 ‘노인’이며 가장 작은 단위는 ‘문화예술교육에 관심있는 노인’이다. 이 두 단위 외에도 서베이, 리더와 전문가 인터뷰를 합산하여, 중간단위로소로써 결과를 도출하 였다. 노인을 대상으로 한 문화예술교육 시행이후 약 15년간 국내에서는 다양한 시도를 하며 양적발전을 이룬 것으로 보여진다. 그러나 젊은 세대의 일자리 창출에 그치거나 대상의 요구 가 반영되지 못한 상황에서 성과형 사업으로 자리매김 했다는 평가를 받으며 질적으로 발전 하는데 아쉬움이 남는다. 따라서 연구자는 문화예술 향유자로서 노인을 인식하고 그들에게 적용하기 위한 바람직한 노인문화예술교육프로그램 기획과정을 살펴보고자 한다. 연구의 결 과는 노인을 문화예술을 향유하는 개인으로서 인식하여 프로그램을 기획하는 과정에 기초자 료를 마련할 수 있을 것이며, 현 세대와 다음세대를 통합하는 수단으로서의 노인문화예술교 육의 활성화를 위하여 지속적인 노인관련 연구가 이루어지는데 발판이 되기 희망한다.
