The purpose of this study is to design and apply the development of STEAM educational theatre programs for non graded system in elementary school students. To do so, I examined the theoretical background of ‘STEAM’ and educational theatre, and based on this, designed a teaching model and applied it to the curriculum directly. This study suggest the following implications. First, the students of various grades will be interest in advanced science, technology, and engineering through STEAM educational theater activities. Second, the artistic sensitivity and humanities literacy of the students will be cultivated. A development this program is expected to increase the interest of students in educational theater through the practice of STEAM education centered on investigation and experience, and to provide a wide and intergrated education suitable for the purpose of the 2015 curriculum.

본 연구는 초등학교 무학년제 STEAM 교육연극 프로그램 개발을 설계하고 적용하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 융합인재교육(STEAM) 과 교육연극(educational theatre)에 대한 이론적 배경을 살펴보고 이를 바탕으로 수업모형을 설계하여 수업과정에 직접 적용해 보았다. 본 연구의 교육 프로그램을 적용한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다양한 학년들의 학생들이 STEAM 교육연극 활 동을 통해 첨단 과학기술과 공학 등에 흥미를 드러내었다. 둘째, 예술적 감성이 길러지고 인문 학적 소양도 함께 함양되었다. 본 연구에서 개발된 프로그램은 탐구 및 체험 중심의 STEAM 교육 실천을 통해 교육연극에 대한 학생들의 흥미를 높이고, 2015 교육과정 취지에 맞는 폭넓 고 융합적인 교육 실현에 일조할 것으로 기대된다.
