The purpose of this study is to examine the understanding and practice of Diakonia in the Pentecostal/Charismatic movements and to discover the characteristics of these movements and its potential for social transformation. Under this purpose, I looked at how the leaders of Pentecostal/Charismatic movements in Korea understood and practised Diakonia. I studied how Pastor Yong-Gi Cho, who led the Pentecostal movements, and Pastor Yong-Jo Ha and Sun-Do Kim, who led the Charismatic movements in other denominations, understood and practised Diakonia in their ministry. Based on their understanding and practice of Diakonia, I analyzed the Pentecostal/Charismatic movements as ecclesial, holistic, and prophetic Diakonia. I then discussed the nature and potential of Diakonia in these movements. As a result of the study, it can be said that it is a superficial understanding of these movements to evaluate the Pentecostal/Charismatic Movements as non-social and exclusive movements pursuing only church growth. The Pentecostal/ Charismatic movements in Korea were active in Diakonia practice at the church service dimension, but their service was misunderstood as a tool for church growth. These movements need to put more emphasis on a holistic perspective and a practical approach that does not distinguish between individual and social salvation. Pentecostal/Charismatic movements should also be able to play a prophetic role in building the kingdom of God through the Diakonia. When the Pentecostal/Charismatic movements balance these three aspects, they will be able to build the kingdom of God through the Diakonia, the essence of the church.

이 연구의 목적은 오순절/은사주의 운동에서 디아코니아의 이해와 실 천을 살펴보고 이 운동의 특성과 사회적 변혁의 잠재력을 발견하는 것이 다. 이러한 목적 아래 국내에서 오순절/은사주의 운동을 이끌었던 지도자 들이 디아코니아를 어떻게 이해하고 실천했는지 살펴본다. 오순절 운동을 주도했던 조용기 목사 그리고 오순절 교단이 아닌 타교단에서 은사주의 운 동을 주도했던 하용조, 김선도 목사의 목회에서 디아코니아를 어떻게 이해 하고 실천했는지를 연구한다. 그리고 그들의 디아코니아 이해와 실천을 바 탕으로 오순절/은사주의 운동을 교회적, 통전적, 예언적 디아코니아로 분 류해서 분석한 후 이 운동의 디아코니아적 특성과 잠재력에 대해서 논한 다. 연구 결과 오순절/은사주의 운동을 교회성장만을 추구하는 비사회적 이고 배타적인 운동으로 평가하는 것은 이 운동에 대한 피상적인 이해라고 할 수 있다. 한국의 오순절/은사주의 운동은 교회차원의 디아코니아 실천 에서는 활발했지만 그들의 봉사는 교회 성장의 도구로 오해되었다. 이 운 동은 개인 구원과 사회 구원을 구분하지 않는 통전적 관점과 실제적 접근 을 더욱 강조할 필요가 있다. 오순절/은사주의 운동은 또한 디아코니아를 통해 하나님의 나라를 건설하는 데 예언자적인 역할을 할 수 있어야 한다. 오순절/은사주의 운동이 교회적, 통전적, 예언적 세 가지 측면의 균형을 맞 출 때 교회의 본질인 디아코니아를 통해 하나님의 나라를 세워갈 수 있을 것이다.
