This study introduces the overall content of the Research on Language and Culutre of Gangwon Province Archives Building and Human Resources Development selected for the BK21+ Phase 4 project and aims to share and spread the project socially. The recent studies of language and culture in Gangwon Province has been mainly focused on revealing the specificity of the region and the value of the region. However, like the recent trend of regional studies, Gangwon-do research also needs to break away from the closed view of Gangwon-do as a self-sufficient research unit and approach Gangwon-do as an open system connected to various external worlds. In other words, the concept of region needs to be understood in the context of trans-border thinking beyond modern nationalism, and academic re-recognition is called for. The project aims to systematically organize the archives about language and culture research in Gangwon Province and to develop professional manpower to lay the foundation for new regional research. In terms of reconstructing the methodological perspective and methods of education of local linguistic and cultural research, this project could contribute to building a foundation for talent development and research in Gangwon Province.

이 글은 BK21+ 4단계 사업에 선정된 <강원 지역 어문학, 문화 연구와 아카이브 구축 인재 양성 사업>의 전반적인 내용을 소개하고 이를 통해서 사업의 사회적 공유와 확산을 목적으로 작성되었다. 최근 강원도의 언어, 문학, 문화에 대한 연구는 주로 지역의 특수성과 지역의 가치를 밝히는 데 초점이 맞춰져 있다. 그러나 최근의 지역학 흐름처럼, 강원도 연구 역시 자족적 연구단위로서의 폐쇄적 시각에서 벗어나 다양한 외부세계와 연결되는 개방적 체계로 강원도에 접근할 필요가 있다. 즉, 지역의 개념은 근대적 국가주의를 넘어 국경을 초월한 사고의 맥락에서 이해될 필요가 있으며, 이를 위해 학문적 재인식이 요구된다는 것이다. 이러한 문제의식을 바탕으로 본 사업팀은 강원지역의 어문학 및 문화연구 아카이브를 체계적으로 정리하고, 새로운 지역 연구의 토대를 마련하기 위한 전문 연구 인력의 양성을 목표로 한다. 지역 어문학 문화연구의 방법론적 시각과 교육방법을 재편하는 차원에서 이번 사업이 강원도의 인재육성과 연구기반 구축에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
