Korea and Israel have a lot of similarities in terms of their geopolitical characteristics as well as security and defense industry environment. However, it is undeniable that Israel has an edge over Korea looking at an arms export achievement aspect so far. In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to the case of Israel in terms of diversification of arms exports. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to contribute to the establishment of Korea's advanced arms export strategy in the future by empirically analyzing export diversification factors through the vector error correction model among the factors that influenced the export competitiveness of Korea and Israel during 1992-2020. As a result of the study, it was analyzed that the diversification of arms exports between Korea and Israel has positively affected the increase in arms exports, and it was confirmed that Israel in particular achieved a higher level of export diversification than Korea. This implies that there is a need to establish an export strategy in the direction of strengthening export diversification for the continued and stable expansion of arms exports in Korea.

한국과 이스라엘은 지정학적 특성뿐만 아니라 안보 및 방위산업 환경 측면에서도 유사성이 많다. 하지만 그간의 무기수출 성과를 보면 이스라엘이 한국보다 우위에 있다는 것은 부인할 수 없는 사실이다. 특히, 무기 수출다각화, 즉 수출 무기유형의 다양화와 무기 수출시장의 다변화 측면에서 이스라엘의 사례를 주목해서 볼 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 1992-2020년 동안 한국과 이스라엘의 수출경쟁력에 영향을 미친 요인 중 수출다각화 요인을 벡터오차수정모형을 통해 실증적으로 분석함 으로써 장차 한국의 발전적인 무기수출 전략 수립에 기여하는데 목적이 있다. 연구결과, 한국과 이스라엘 양국의 무기 수출다 각화는 무기수출 증대에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 분석되었으며, 특히 이스라엘은 한국보다 높은 수준의 수출다 각화를 달성하고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 한국의 지속적이고 안정적인 무기수출 확대를 위해 수출다각화를 강화하는 방향으로 수출전략을 수립할 필요성이 있음을 시사하고 있다.
