In this study, using the structured behavior provoking questions in actual criminal cases, we tried to derive false clues through nonverbal behavioral analysis of subjects during the pre-test interview in polygraph examination. As a result of the study, the lying subjects showed behavioral characteristics of gaze avoidance in both unrelated questions and event-related questions. In event-related questions, the lying subjects showed fewer hand/finger movements, leg/foot movements, and head movements than the truthful subjects. This is interpreted as an intention to show credibility in one's statements by controlling unnecessary movements of hand/finger, leg/foot, and head movements when lying. The gaze avoidance is interpreted as an behavioral characteristic of the intention to avoid the situation.

본 연구에서는 구조화된 행동유발질문을 사용하여 실제 형사사건에서 폴리그래프검사 전 면담 시 피검자에게서 나타나는 비언어적 행동 분석을 통해 거짓의 단서를 도출하고자 하였다. 연구 결과, 거짓 말을 하는 피검자의 경우 무관련질문과 사건관련질문 모두에서 응시회피의 행동적 특징을 보이며, 사건 관련질문에서는 손/손가락 움직임, 다리/발 움직임, 머리 움직임이 진실한 피검자에 비해서 더 적게 나타났다. 이는 거짓말할 때 피검자가 의도적으로 손/손가락, 다리/발, 머리 움직임의 불필요한 움직임은 통제함으로써 자신의 진술에 신뢰성을 보이려는 의도로 해석되며, 응시회피는 상황을 회피하려는 의도 가 행동적 특징으로 나타난 것으로 해석된다.
