The Korean Peninsula was the battlefield of the Cold War in the 20th century. The Korean Peninsula suffered from the division of the two Koreas and the Korean War of fratricidal war. Therefore, it is very dramatic that the opportunity to ease military tensions on the Korean Peninsula and peaceful inter-Korean exchanges has arrived since 2018. The Heavenly Parents' Holy Community has been carrying out the peace and unification movement for half a century, emphasizing the Korean Peninsula as the fatherland of God. The unification movement of the Heavenly Parents' Holy Community is an example of the civilian responsibility and role in realizing the peace community on the Korean Peninsula. Peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula cannot be achieved by government-level diplomacy alone. When political negotiations between the North and South Korea face difficulties, dialogue and cooperation at various levels, including religion, society, economy, and culture, can play an important role. In particular, the Heavenly Parents' Holy Community has carried out all-out dialogue and cooperation campaigns, including economic, cultural arts, sports, denuclearization, unification preparation, international unification movement, blessing and true family movements, inter-Korean exchanges. It has contributed greatly to substantial inter-Korean exchanges by establishing an international foundation and engaging in public education. In the future, peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula will be realized when not only the efforts of political summit diplomacy, but also the joint deliberation, cooperation, and progression on a multilateral level like the model of Heavenly Parents’ Holy Community such as religion and civic groups.

한반도는 신탁통치와 남북분단, 동족상잔의 한국전쟁을 거치며 20세기 냉전과 대 립의 요충지로 존재해 왔다. 그렇기 때문에 2018년 이후 한반도의 군사적 긴장완화 와 남북평화교류의 기회는 매우 극적인 일이 아닐 수 없다. 한편, 하늘부모님성회는 한반도를 하나님의 조국으로 강조하며, 반세기에 걸쳐 평화통일운동을 전개해 왔다. 하늘부모님성회의 신통일한국운동은 한반도 평화공동체 실현을 위한 민간차원의 책 임과 역할을 잘 보여주는 사례다. 한반도 평화통일은 정부차원의 정상외교만으로 이 룰 수 없다. 당사자간 정치적 협상이 난항을 겪을 때, 종교와 사회, 경제, 문화 등 다양한 차원의 대화와 협력이 중요한 역할을 할 수 있다. 특히, 하늘부모님성회는 승공운동과 남북통일운동을 전개하면서 경제, 문화예술, 스포츠, 비핵화, 통일준비, 국제적 통일운동, 축복과 참가정운동, 남북교류, 조문활동 등 전방위적인 대화와 협 력운동을 전개해 왔다. 국제적 기반을 조성하고 국민교육에 나서면서 실질적인 남북 교류에 크게 기여해 왔다. 향후 한반도 평화통일은 정치적인 정상외교의 노력뿐만 교류에 크게 기여해 왔다. 향후 한반도 평화통일은 정치적인 정상외교의 노력뿐만 아니라 종교와 시민단체 등 다자적 차원에서 연대하여 숙의하고 협력하며 나아갈 때 실현될 것이다.
