As the 4th Industrial Revolution emerges, Knowledge Intensive Business Service (KIBS), which play a role in promoting innovation and enhancing productivity by processing and providing knowledge as intermediate goods to companies that make up the industrial ecosystem in the region, is getting more important. This study, using data from 2008 to 2016 targeting 75 cities in Korea, analyzed the impact of industrial diversity on the agglomeration of KIBS industries by type using a panel data analysis. In addition, this study investigated the differences of the impact of industrial diversity by the location of Capital and Non-capital regions in parallel. This study found that the increase of industrial diversity in the whole region promotes the agglomeration of all types of KIBS industry. However, the increase of industrial diversity in the Capital regions weakens the agglomeration of the Technology-based and Specialty-led (TS) KIBS industry, and promotes aggregation of other types. In addition, in the model for Non-Capital region, industrial diversity promotes aggregation of the Technology-based and Specialty-led (TS) KIBS industry, but have not statistically significant impact on the agglomeration of other types of KIBS industry.

4차 산업혁명이 대두되면서 지역 내 산업생태계를 구성하는 기업들에게 지식을 가공한 중간재를 제공함으로써 혁신과 생산성 증진을 유발하는 지식집약사업서비스의 중요성은 점차 증대되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 우리나라의 75개 시 지역들의 2008년에서 2016년까지 의 자료를 활용하여 산업 다양성이 KIBS 산업의 유형별 집적에 미치는 영향을 패널모형 분석을 활용하여 검증하였다. 또한 이 과정에서 수도권과 비수도권의 입지에 따라 산업 다양성이 미치는 영향의 차이를 함께 검증하였다. 분석 결과 일반시 전체를 대상으로 한 경우 산업 다양성이 모든 유형의 KIBS 산업의 집적을 촉진하는 것으로 나타난 반면, 수 도권 지역의 산업 다양성의 증대는 기술 기반-전문성 주도 형태의 KIBS 산업의 집적을 약화시키며, 그 외의 유형에 대해서는 집적을 촉진시키는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 비수도 권 지역에서는 산업 다양성의 증대가 기술 기반-전문성 주도 형태의 KIBS 산업의 집적 을 촉진시키는 반면, 그 외의 유형에 대해서는 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 검증 되었다.
