This study wanted to discuss ways to differentiate the project of the wide-area art support centers, which have recently been established in line with the social atmosphere in which support for artists themselves is spreading. For this purpose, the current status of the support center and support projects were compared with the cases of the support project of the Korea Artists Welfare Foundation and the Gyeonggi Arts Support Center. As research methodology does not have much relevant statistics and existing research data, deep interview methodology was used as an exploratory study. As a result of the research, the need to overcome the limitations of existing art support policies centered on project unit support and to prepare artist support policies specialized to metropolitan governments is emerging. In addition, a new change in artist support policy is required in the post-corona era, and most of all, the arts support center in the metropolitan area needs to be differentiated from the Artists Welfare Foundation, which focuses on life security. To this end, it is hoped that various projects will be established, such as activating networks of artists specialized in each region, supporting the operation of cooperatives, and protecting copyrights by region.

본 연구는 예술인 자체에 대한 지원이 확산되는 사회적 분위기에 따라 최근 설립이 증가하고 있는 광역 단위 예술인지원센터의 사업을 중앙과 차별화하는 방안에 대해 논 의하고자 했다. 이를 위해 한국예술인복지재단과 경기예술인지원센터 등 광역단위 예 술인지원센터들을 지원 사업을 중심으로 비교하였다. 연구방법론으로 기존 연구 자료 가 많지 않아 탐색적 연구로서 심층인터뷰 방법론을 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 지자체일 수록 프로젝트 단위 중심의 지원보다는 예술인 자체에 대한 지원에 집중해야 함을 확 인하였다. 또한 광역 단위의 예술인지원센터는 예술인의 자립 지원에 집중함으로써 현 재 예술인 생활보장에 주력하고 있는 한국예술인복지재단과의 차별화가 필요하다. 예 술인 자립을 구현하기 위해서는 지역 예술인 네트워크 활성화, 전 생애 주기별 지원체 계 구축, 아카이브 구축, 교육의 강화, 협동조합 설립 및 운영 지원, 권역별 저작권 보호 등의 사업이 요구된다. 본 연구가 광역단위 예술인지원센터의 역할과 사업에 대한 학술적, 실무적 논의의 본격화를 위한 기초자료가 되기를 기대한다.
