Following the revision of the curriculum in 2015, new textbooks were developed. The new textbooks drastically reduce the amount of learning by reflecting the purpose of revising the curriculum and set the direction of revision in the direction of textbooks centered on student activities. Based on middle school social textbooks developed by publishers, we would like to examine whether they reflect the direction of revision of the 2015 curriculum through quantitative and qualitative analysis of textbook composition, thought-opening, body, and exploration activities. In particular, it will classify students' activity-oriented textbooks and content-oriented textbooks focusing on exploration activities, and based on this, it will provide directions for the development of textbooks to be developed in the future.

2015 교육과정 개정에 따라 새롭게 교과서가 개발되었다. 새로 운 교과서는 교육과정 개정 취지를 반영하여 학습량을 과감히 감축하고 학생 활동 중심의 교과서의 방향으로 개정 방향이 설 정되었다. 이에 출판사별 개발된 중학교 사회 교과서를 바탕으 로 교과서 구성 특징, 생각열기, 본문, 탐구활동의 정량적, 정성 적 분석을 통해 2015 교육과정의 개정 방향을 반영하고 있는지 와 교과서별 특징을 살펴보고자 한다. 특히 탐구활동 등을 중점 으로 학생 활동 중심 교과서와 내용 중심 교과서로 분류하며, 이를 토대로 향후 개발될 교과서의 발전 방향을 제시하고자 한다.
