The purpose of this study is to determine the overall trends and effect size of domestic music therapy studies for schizophrenia patients from 1999 to 2020, and 62 master/doctoral theses and journal articles were selected for analysis. For this contents were analysed by dividing the research year, research method, research environment, research purpose, musical interventions and intervention characteristics, and Meta-analysis were conducted by selecting 32 experimental-control group design studies. As a result of the trend analysis, research on music therapy for patients with schizophrenia was constantly published. Research methods accounted for a higher proportion of experimental research than technical research, and the research environment did not differ much between hospitalization and local community. The research purpose was high proportion of the two areas in the psychological/motional and social areas, and the musical intervention made up the greatest proportion in mix intervention and singing&instrument. As for the characteristics of intervention, many studies consisted of less than 10 people, 11 to 15 sessions, twice a week, and more than 60 minutes. Meta-analysis yielded 120 effect sizes from 32 papers, and the overall average effect size was 1.26, which is a large effect size. The research environment showed great effect sizes in both hospitalization and the local community. The purpose of the study was effective in two areas: social and psychological/emotional. Musical intervention showed a large effect size in playing musical instruments, singing/playing musical instruments and mixed intervention. In the characteristics of intervention, it was found to be effective when there are more than 21 people, more than 21 sessions, three times a week, and more than 60 minutes.

본 연구의 목적은 1999년부터 2020년까지 발표된 조현병 환자 대상 국내 음악치료 관련 연구의 전반 적인 동향과 효과크기를 알아보는 데 있으며, 분석대상은 석·박사 및 학술지 논문 62편이다. 이를 위 해 연도, 연구방법, 연구환경, 연구목적, 음악적 중재, 중재 특성으로 구분하여 내용을 분석하였으며, 32편의 실험-통제집단 설계연구를 선정하여 메타분석을 실시하였다. 동향 분석 결과, 조현병 환자 대상 음악치료 연구는 지속적으로 발표되고 있었다. 연구방법은 기술연구보다 실험연구의 비중이 높았으며, 연구환경은 입원과 지역사회 간 큰 차이는 없었다. 연구목적은 심리·정서와 사회영역에서, 음악적 중재 는 혼합중재, 노래와 연주 중재에서 비중이 높았다. 중재 특성은 10명 이하, 11-15회기, 주 2회, 60분 이상으로 이뤄진 연구가 많았다. 메타 분석 결과, 32편의 논문으로부터 120개의 효과크기가 산출되었 으며, 전체 평균 효과크기는 1.26으로 큰 효과를 보였다. 연구환경에서는 입원과 지역사회 모두에서 큰 효과크기를 보였다. 연구목적은 사회와 심리·정서영역에서 큰 효과크기를 보였으며, 음악적 중재는 연 주 관련 중재, 노래와 연주, 혼합중재의 효과가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 중재 특성에서는 21명 이상, 21회 기 이상, 주당 3회, 60분 이상일 때 효과가 큰 것으로 나타났다.
