This article reveals that the romance fantasy genre's growth story is an adventure narrative as well as a basic narrative of a web novel, and examines the ambivalence shown in the growth story. Grown-up stories transform the emphasis on romantic relationships between the opposite sex in the genre of traditional romance, linking the physical and mental growth of the female lead to adventure. Therefore, it emphasizes the cute behavior and appearance of children, and draws psychological support from the readers. This structure seems to utilize some grammar of existing genre novels. Therefore, the story of growth can be seen as a story built by the recombination of cliche. Based on the three representative pieces of work, the narrative characteristics can be reviewed and arranged in the form of the protagonist, who has grown up but is still a child, finding a new family in a hostile world, and showing off cuteness and completing her adventure. It was discovered that the nature of the adventure narrative is family-centered and close to the theme of winner-take-all. Also, the main character's cuteness, loveliness, and adorable actions were reviewed. They are the pleasure that comes from the unconditional love of someone you like, and the device of love that allows you to empathize with the person. The strength of this discussion lies in examining the specific growth products that highlight cute. Nevertheless, the limitation remains that the connection between the social and cultural dogma of web novels linked to Daughter-Fools has not been further highlighted, and that platforms and novels have been biased. This is to be supplemented by further research.

이 글에서는 웹소설의 기본 서사인 ‘모험서사’의 변주로 등장한 로맨스판타지 장르의 ‘성장물’에 나타난 양면성을 살펴보았다. 성장물은 기존 로맨스 장르에서 이성 간의 로맨스를 강조했던 것을 변주하여 여성 주인공의 신체적이고 정신적인 성장을 모험과 연결하면서 어린이의 귀여운 행동과 모습을 강조하며, 독자들의 심리적 지지를 이끌어낸다. 해당 구도는기존 장르소설의 문법을 일부 활용한 것으로 보인다. 곧 성장물은 기존클리셰의 재조합으로 구축된 이야기이다. 대표적인 작품 세 편을 중심으로 서사적 특성을 검토한 결과, 성장물은 주인공이 성인의 이성을 갖춘 어린이의 모습으로 자신을 적대하는 세계에서 새로운 가족을 찾고, 애교와 귀여움을 뽐내며 모험을 완수하는 이야기로 정리할 수 있다. 또한 성장과정에서 경험하는 모험은 아버지-오빠 등남성 가족의 승인 아래 완수되는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이 연구는 주인공의 귀여움과 사랑스러움, 애교를 반복함으로써 얻는 효과를 검토하였다. 자신이 좋아하는 인물이 무조건적인 사랑을 받는 것에서 오는 쾌감, 그리고 그 인물에 감정이입할 수 있는 연애라는 장치가 그것이다. 해당 논의의 강점은 ‘귀여움’이 부각되는 성장물의 특수성을 검토한 데 있다. 그럼에도 ‘딸 바보’와 연결된 웹소설의 사회문화적 독법과의 연관성을 좀 더 부각하지 못했다는 점, 플랫폼과 소설이 편중되었다는 점 등은 한계로 남는다. 이는 추후 연구에서 보완하고자 한다.
