The purpose of this study is to review the phenomenon of hatred Kim Myung-Soon in detail surrounding Nakanishi Inosuke’s novel, Behind Your Back, and to clarify where the origin of this is. Kim Myung-Soon is the target of unilateral attacks by male writers and media because he is a model for this novel. Kim Ki-Jin pours out disparaging and disgusting remarks against Kim Myung-Soon through an open letter. In addition, Bang Jeong-Hwan did not allow Kim Myung-Soon’s publication of a rebuttal to this public statement and further undermined her honor through the Eun Paris Corner. After watching their attack on Kim Myung-Soon, the public confined her in the image of a prodigal woman, a polluted and dirty woman created by the media and came to sympathize with the media. Male intellectuals, who were reducing the frustration of the March 1st Movement and the limitations of colonial intellectuals, chose and attacked Kim Myung-Soon as the easiest and quickest control object using the media, and it is believed that it has spread widely with hate feelings as it is learned from the public. Such a series of incidents against Kim Myung-Soon can be seen as a “record of hatred” produced by colonial men’s feelings of fear and indiscriminate media and the masses who sympathized with it. 본 연구에서는 나카니시 이노스케(中西伊之助)의 소설 『汝等の背後より』를 둘러싸고 전개된 김명순 혐오 현상을 자세히 되짚어보고, 이것의 근원이 어디 에서 연유하는가를 밝히는 데 목적을 두고자 한다. 김명순은 이 소설의 모델이 되었다는 이유로 남성 작가들과 매체의 일방적 인 공격의 대상이 된다. 김기진은 공개장을 통해 김명순에 대한 원색적 비하발언과 혐오 발언을 쏟아낸다. 또한 방정환은 이 공개장에 대한 김명순의 반 박문 게재 지면을 허락하지 않았으며, ‘은파리’ 코너를 통해 그녀의 명예를 더 욱 실추시킨다. 김명순을 향한 그들의 공격을 지켜본 대중들은 매체가 만들어 낸 방탕한 여성, 오염되고 더러운 여성의 이미지 속에 그녀를 가두고 함께 동 조하게 된다. 3·1운동의 좌절과 식민지 지식인이라는 한계를 절감하고 있던 남성 지식인들은 매체를 이용해 가장 쉽고 빠르게 통제할 수 있는 대상으로 김명순을 선택하고 공격했으며, 그것이 대중들에게 그대로 학습되면서 혐오 감정으로 광범위하게 퍼져나갔다고 본다. 이러한 김명순에 대한 일련의 사태 들은 식민지 남성들의 두려움의 감정과 무분별한 매체와 이에 동조한 대중들 이 낳은 ‘혐오의 기록’이라고 볼 수 있다.
