The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of a hope-based career counseling program on children's career barrier perception and career decision-making self-efficacy. To reach this purpose, the career barrier and career decision-making self-efficacy tests were administered to sixth graders of S Elementary school in Seoul. The experimental group is the class of which the researcher is in charge, whereas the control group is one class homogeneous with the experimental group in preliminary test results. For four weeks, the experimental group was given 10 sessions of hope-based career counseling while the control group was not given the intervention. After the intervention, the career barrier and the career decision-making self-efficacy tests were again administered. Analysis results using Multivariate ANOVA(MANOVA) are as follows. First, the experimental group had a significantly lower perception of the career barrier than the control group. Second, experimental groups had significantly higher career decision-making self-efficacy compared to the control group. These findings indicate that the hope-based career counseling program can decrease children's perception of career barriers and increase career decision-making self-efficacy.

본 연구의 목적은 희망기반 진로상담 프로그램이 아동의 진로장벽 인식과 진로결정 자기효 능감에 미치는 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 서울특별시에 소재한 S초등학교 6학년 5 개 학급을 대상으로 진로장벽과 진로결정 자기효능감 검사를 실시하였으며, 본 연구자의 학 급을 실험집단으로, 사전검사 결과 실험집단과 동질성이 확보된 다른 1개 학급을 통제집단으 로 선정하였다. 실험집단에는 4주간 총 10회기의 희망기반 진로상담 프로그램을 실시하였고, 통제집단에는 아무런 처치를 가하지 않았다. 실험이 종료된 후에는 프로그램의 효과검증을 위해 실험집단과 통제집단에 진로장벽 및 진로결정 자기효능감 검사를 실시하였다. 본 연구 에서는 효과검증을 위해 다변량 분산분석을 실시하였으며, 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 희망기반 진로상담 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단은 통제집단에 비하여 진로장벽 인식이 유 의미하게 낮았다. 둘째, 희망기반 진로상담 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단은 통제집단에 비하 여 진로결정 자기효능감이 유의미하게 높았다. 이러한 연구결과는 희망기반 진로상담 프로 그램이 아동의 진로장벽 인식 개선뿐만 아니라 진로결정 자기효능감 증진에 효과적임을 시사한다.
