The medical device industry is demanding the development of medical devices using new technologies due to the aging society and the development of artificial intelligence, big data, IOT technology, and wearable technology, and is expanding and expanding with an increase in quantity. This study aims to grasp the relationship with design and derive specific linkages in keeping with the changes in medical device design in the changing medical industry. In order to specifically analyze the relationship between design, which is an essential element in medical device development, and medical devices, eight data categorized as design-related among the U.S. FDA medical device recall data categorized into 43 causes were analyzed. Selected LDA Analysis, an unstructured text data analysis method. Of the eight recall data collected, four were able to find out that four data were closely related to the design. As a result of the analysis, the following three points were found to have a deep connection between medical devices and designs. ① Errors occurring in the screen display and equipment connected to the device, ② errors due to software upgrades and changes in the use environment, and ③ accurate information and processing errors on use and storage transport. The trend of recall related to design was found to increase in device design recall data and packaging design recall data. This study analyzed the relationship between medical devices and designs in the changing medical industry through a topic modeling analysis method using unstructured text data. The results of this study are expected to be useful data that can be used in the development of actual medical device designs.

의료기기 산업은 사회의 고령화와 인공지능, 빅데이터, IOT 기술, 웨어러블 기술 등의 발달로 새로운 기술을 활용한 의료기기 개발이 요구되어지고 있으며 양적 증가로 확장 및 확대되고 있다. 본 연구는 변화하는 의료산업에서 의료기기 디자인의 변화와 발맞추어 디자인과의 연관성을 파악하고 구체적 연계내용을 도출하고자 한다. 의료기기 개발에서 필수요소인 디자인과 의료기기의 연관성을 구체적으로 분석하기 위해 리콜 원인이 43가지로 분류된 미국 FDA 의료기기 리콜 데이터 중 디자인과 관련된 것으로 분류된 8가지 데이터를 분석대상으로 하였으며 분석방법은 비정형 텍스트 데이터 분석기법인 LDA분석을 선정하였다. 수집한 8가지 리콜 데이터 중 4개의 데이터가 디자인과 관련이 깊은 것을 파악할 수 있었다. 분석결과 다음의 3가지에서 의료기기와 디자인의 연관성이 깊은 것을 발견하였다. ① 기기와 연결된 화면 디스플레이 및 기기에서 발생하는 오류, ② 소프트웨어의 업그레이드, 사용 환경 변경에 따른 오류, ③ 사용 및 보관 운송에 대한 정확한 정보 및 처리 오류로 파악할 수 있었다. 디자인과 연계된 리콜의 추세는 기기디자인 리콜 데이터와 포장디자인 리콜 데이터가 증가하는 것으로 파악되었다. 본 연구는 변화하는 의료산업에서 의료기기와 디자인의 연관성을 비정형 텍스트 데이터를 이용한 토픽모델링 분석 방법을 통하여 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과는 실제 의료기기 디자인 개발 시에 활용할 수 있는 유용한 데이터 자료가 될 것으로 기대한다.
