The movement of fallen soldiers’ bereaved families in the post-war Japan was triggered by the economic and emotional dejection of bereaved families resulting from the suspension of social assistance and public aid they had received before and after the war. A new national consensus was formed on the necessity of re-evaluation of fallen soldiers in order to show the legitimacy of the movement in the post-war Japan and on Yasukuni Shrine, which was in crisis as a militaristic shrine. In this regard, this study is aimed at reviewing the relationship between the creation of the movement of fallen soldiers’ bereaved families and Yasukuni Shrine, and examining their connection to re-evaluate fallen soldiers in the post-war Japan. Such re-evaluation was carried out in the discussion over a “Tomb of Known Soldier” to be constructed. This study primarily focuses on the argument of the movement of fallen soldiers’ bereaved families and Yasukuni Shrine, which led the discussion. This is because there was a new national consensus on fallen soldiers and Yasukuni Shrine behind such re-evaluation. Thus, the study analyzes and considers the Yasukuni Shrine Law Proposal by both the conservative and liberal parties to look at the reality of the national consensus.

敗戦後に形成された戦没者遺族運動は、戦前ㆍ戦中には得られた社会的支援や公的援護を打 ち切られ、経済的ㆍ精神的に大きな喪失感の中から出発することになった。その再開を求める運動 の正当性を示すためには戦後日本における｢戦没者｣の再評価が必要となり、軍国主義的神社として 廃止の危機に瀕した靖国神社とともに、新たな｢国民的な合意｣の形成が目指されたのである。 本稿では、戦没者遺族運動の形成期における靖国神社との関係性を概観し、戦後日本におけ る｢戦没者｣の再評価に向けた両者の連携について明らかにする。そして、新たに建設が予定され た｢無名戦没者の墓｣をめぐる議論において｢戦没者｣の再評価が進められることになるが、その議論 を主導した遺族運動と靖国神社の主張に注目した分析を進める。さらに、そのような再評価の背景 には、｢戦没者｣と靖国神社をめぐる新たな｢国民的な合意｣が存在しており、その｢国民的な合意｣ の実相について保守ㆍ革新両陣営によって作成された二つの靖国神社法案の分析を通じて明らか にする。

패전 후에 형성된 전몰자유족운동은 전전 ㆍ전후에 받았던 사회적 지원과 공적 원호가 중 단되어 경제적 ㆍ정신적으로 큰 상실감 속에서 출발하게 되었다. 전몰자유족운동의 정당성을 보여주기 위해서는 전후 일본의 ‘전몰자’에 대한 재평가가 필요하고, 군국주의적 신사로서 위 기에 처한 야스쿠니신사와 함께 새로운 ‘국민적 합의’가 형성되었다. 이에 본 논문에서는 전몰자유족운동의 형성 과정에서 야스쿠니신사와의 관계성을 개관하고, 전후 일본의 ‘전몰자’의 재평가를 위한 양자의 연계에 대해서 살펴보고자 한다. 새로 건설이 예정된 ‘무명전몰자의 묘’를 둘러싼 논의 과정에서 ‘전몰자’의 재평가가 진행되었다. 그 논의를 주도한 유족운동과 야스쿠니신사의 주장에 주목하여 분석하였다. 그와 같은 재평가의 배경에는 ‘전몰자’와 야스쿠니신사를 둘러싼 새로운 ‘국민적 합의’가 존재하고 있었기 때문이며, 그 ‘국 민적 합의’의 실상에 대해서는 보수와 혁신의 두 진영에 의해 형성된 야스쿠니신사법안을 분 석하여 고찰하였다.
