The purpose of this study was to understand and explore the role performance of music therapy intern supervisors. All six participants in the study were supervisors who had more than 5 years of experience as a music therapy intern supervisor, and who worked as a music therapist in the clinical field together with the intern. Data was collected by conducting two in-depth telephone interviews with each study participant from May 13 to June 11, 2020. As a result of the study according to Giorgi's phenomenological analysis procedure, the derived semantic units were 67, and based on this, 19 sub-elements and 5 constituents that were judged to be the essence of a common experience were derived. The five components were ‘the role of an intern supervisor’, ‘difficulties as an intern supervisor’, ‘working for the growth of an intern’, ‘the reward and growth as an intern supervisor’, and ‘a good supervision relationship.’ This study is meaningful in examining the supervisor's competency by exploring the role performance of the music therapy intern supervisor. In addition, through the results of this study, it is meaningful to understand the role of intern supervisors and to provide basic data for supervisor education and training.

본 연구는 음악치료 인턴 수퍼바이저의 역할 수행에 대해 이해하고 탐구하기 위한 목적으로 실행되었다. 이를 위하여 연구의 참여자들은 모두 6명으로 음악치료 인턴 수퍼바이저 경력이 5 년 이상이며, 인턴과 함께 임상현장에서 음악치료사로서 근무하고 있는 수퍼바이저들로 구성되 었다. 2020년 5월 13일부터 6월 11일까지 각각의 연구 참여자들에게 두 차례 전화 심층면담을 시행하여 자료를 수집하였다. Giorgi의 현상학적 분석절차에 따라 연구한 결과, 도출된 의미단 위는 67개이고 이를 바탕으로 공통적인 경험의 본질이라고 판단되는 19개의 하위구성요소와 5 개의 구성요소가 도출되었다. 5개의 구성요소는 ‘인턴 수퍼바이저의 역할’, ‘인턴 수퍼바이저로 서 느끼는 어려움’, ‘인턴 성장을 위한 노력’, ‘인턴 수퍼바이저로서 느끼는 보람과 성장’, ‘좋은 수퍼비전 관계’로 나타났다. 본 연구는 음악치료 인턴 수퍼바이저의 역할 수행에 대한 실제를 탐구하여 수퍼바이저에게 필요한 역량을 고찰하는 데 의의가 있다. 본 연구 결과를 통하여 인 턴 수퍼바이저의 역할을 이해하고 수퍼바이저의 교육과 훈련을 위한 기초 자료로 제공되기를 기대한다.
