This study considers a satire Aspect of in Gae Byeok. After analyzing the seven works in aesthetic categories, 7th, 8th, and 9th-three works are applicable to satire, but 10th, 12th, 17th, and 18th-four works somewhat lack characteristic of satire. Satire is a cheerful laugh that denys ‘what is supposed to be’ and affirms ‘what you have.’ In other words, satire should have ‘laugh’ and ‘criticism.’ We can see laugh and criticism altogether in 7th, 8th, and 9th. But we can see only criticism without laugh in 10th, 12th, 17th, and 18th. Therefore in terms of aesthetic categories, these four works are not considered satire. This is because of the intention of converting the realm of fiction into the realm of nonfiction as well as the importance of enlightenment. is a serial aiming at promoting national consciousness, through not some resistance to Japanese imperialism but the criticism of Choseon’s authority and the modern woman. This is a way accomplishing the health of Choseon Nation through a criticism toward the corruption of Choseon person, ultimately, this was regarded for inspiring national consciousness.

본고의 목적은 『開闢』에 실린 <銀파리>에 나타난 풍자의 양상을 미적 범주의 관점에서 살피는 것이었다. <銀파리> 7회분을 미적 범주의 관점에서 분석한 결과, 7호, 8호, 9호 3회분은 풍자에 해당되지만, 10호, 12호, 17호, 18호 4회분은 풍자의 특징이 다소 부족했다. 풍자는 ‘있어야 할 것’을 부정하고 ‘있는 것’이 긍정되는 상반의 과정에서 도출되는 통쾌한 웃음이다. 즉, 풍자에는 ‘웃음’과 ‘비판’이 있어야 한다. <銀파리> 7호, 8호, 9호 3회분은 웃음과 비판이 공존하지만, 10호, 12호, 17호, 18호 4회분은 웃음은 거의 없고 비판만 강하게 드러나는 형식이었다. 그 이유는 ‘계몽의 중요성’ 때문이기도 하지만, 비판의 방향을 ‘허구의 영역’에서 ‘사실의 영역’으로 전환하기 위한 의도였다고도 볼 수 있었다. <銀파리>는 ‘민족의식 고취’를 목적으로 한 연재물인데, 민족의식 고취를 ‘일제에 대한 저항’으로 이루기보다는 ‘조선 권세가와 신여성에 대한 비판’으로 성취하고자 했다. 이것은 조선인 개인의 타락에 대한 비판을 통해 조선의 건강함을 달성하고자 한 것이었고, 이는 결국 ‘민족의식 고취’를 위한 것으로 볼 수 있었다.
