The goal of this study is to let maritme policers look into their actual tasks, and to identify the required competences, main factors, and improvements in the performance of their roles. We expect that it could be used as fundamental data on the role performance of maritime police. In order to achieve the goals, 104 maritime police officers on duty are selected as subjects for the study, and data collection was conducted using open questionnaires that formed questions to identify important factors in the role of maritime police. The responses carried out keyword network analysis, and the results of the study are as follows: First, the most frequently mentioned keyword in capacity response required to perform the role recognized by maritime police was shown as rescue capacity (140), the second most mentioned keyword was physical strength (40), and the third was investigative ability (36). Keywords associated with each keyword based on the value of connectivity centrality were first examined in order of structural capacity, physical strength, investigative ability, and swimming ability. Second, the most frequently mentioned keyword in the response to important factors in maritime police role performance was structural capacity (98), the second most mentioned keyword was investigative capacity (67), and the third was personality (51). The most frequently mentioned keywords associated with each keyword were investigated in the order of investigative capacity, rescue capacity, sense of mission, personality, and integrity. Third, keywords for responding to improvements in the role of maritime police were found in the order of rescue capability (31), personnel management system (25), equipment improvement (23), and swimming ability (22). The most frequently mentioned keywords associated with each keyword were structural, personnel, and swimming.

이 연구의 목적은 실제 한국의 해양경찰이 업무를 수행하는데 있어 자신들의 직무를 검토하고, 역할수행에 따른 필요역량, 중요요인, 개선사항을 파악하는데 있다. 이를 통하여 해양경찰의 역할수행에 대한 기초자료로 활용될 것을 기대한다. 이 연 구의 목적 달성을 위해 현재 근무 중인 해양경찰 104명을 연구대상으로 선정하였으 며, 자료수집은 해양경찰의 역할수행에 대한 중요요인을 확인하기 위해 문항을 구성 한 개방형설문지를 활용하여 조사를 실시하였다. 조사된 응답은 키워드네트워크 분 석을 수행하였으며, 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 해양경찰이 인식하는 역할 수 행에 필요한 역량 응답에서 가장 높게 나타난 키워드는 구조역량(140회)이었으며, 두 번째 키워드로 체력(40회), 세 번째는 수사능력(36회)으로 나타났다. 연결중앙성 값 을 바탕으로 각 키워드와 연결하여 빈번하게 언급된 키워드로는 먼저 구조역량, 체 력, 수사능력, 수영능력 순으로 조사되었다. 둘째, 해양경찰 역할수행에 있어 중요요 인 응답에서 가장 높게 나타난 키워드는 구조역량(98회)으로 나타났다. 두 번째 키 워드로 수사역량(67회), 세 번째는 인성(51회)으로 나타났다. 각 키워드와 연결하여 많이 언급된 키워드로는 수사역량, 구조역량, 사명감, 인성, 청렴 순으로 조사되었다. 셋째, 해양경찰 역할수행에 있어 개선사항 응답에 대한 키워드로는 구조역량(31회), 인사제도(25회), 장비개선(23회), 수영능력(22회) 순으로 높게 조사되었다. 각 키워드 와 연결하여 자주 언급된 키워드로는 구조역량, 인사제도, 수영능력 순으로 나타났다.
