This paper examines to pay attention to the perception on the Korean Peninsula of Japanese repatriate, who had a lasting interest in the liberation space of colonial Joseon and more than anyone else in Japanese society after defeat in the Second World War. It also analyzes the bulletin of the Dōwa Association, which played a central role in solving pending issues and related organizations among Japanese repatriate. Through this, their perception on the Korean Peninsula was created in the process of forced repa triation by the U.S. military government to Japan, two governments established on the Korean Peninsula after liberation, the Korean War, the Treaty of Peace with Japan, the South Korea-Japan normalization negotiations and the North Korea-Japan negotiati ons regarding the issue of detainee. In addition, this paper aims to present the view that the Japanese, who returned after the defeat, moved between South Korea and North Korea in line with the international situation and recognized the Korean Peninsula arbitrarily and conveniently. From this perspective, the paper focuses on the activities of the Dōwa Association and the Centra l Japan-Korea Association, which are key organizations formed by Japanese repatriate, and among them, the perception on the Korean Peninsula, is refracted according to the inflection point by time. Accordingly, this paper have two significance. First, Japanese repatriates recognized South Korea as a space to recreate it as a postwar edition of the Japanese colonialism that the two countries should accept and cooperate with geogr aphical, historical and cultural specificities. Second, the repatriates have identified aspe cts of North Korea that Japan's human rights were infringed.

본 논문에서는 패전 이후 일본 사회에서 누구보다, 그리고 거의 유일하게 식민지 조선 의 해방공간에 대한 지속적인 관심을 지녔던 일본인 귀환자의 한반도 인식에 주목한다. 그리고 일본인 귀환자들 중에서도 현안 해결과 관련 단체들의 중심적 역할을 담당했던 동화협회(同和協會), 중앙일한협회(中央日韓協會)의 기관지 同和를 분석한다. 이를 통해 그들의 한반도 인식이 미군정청에 의한 일본으로의 강제송환, 이른바 귀환 과정과 함께 해방 이후 한반도에 수립된 두 개의 정부, 그리고 한국전쟁 발발과 대일강화조약, 나아가 한일회담을 거쳐 교섭 결렬 이후 북일의 미귀환자 문제 교섭에 이르는 과정에서 만들어진 양상을 드러낸다. 또한 본 논문은 기존에 식민지 조선을 하나의 공간으로 묶어서 보는 경향에서 벗어나 재조일본인들이 패전 후 귀환자가 되어 한반도를 국제 정세에 맞춰 한국과 북한 사이를 오가며 자의적이고 편의적으로 인식했다는 관점을 제시하고자 한다. 이러한 관점에서 본 논문에서는 일본인 귀환자들이 모여 결성한 핵심 단체인 동화협회, 중앙일한협회의 행적에 주목하고, 그중에서도 단체 회보에 드러난 한반도 인식이 시기별 변곡점에 따라 굴절되어 남과 북을 오가는 측면을 밝혀내고자 한다.
