Along with the technological development of the fourth industrial revolution, maker education has shown its potential as a new educational paradigm due to its various advantages. The study extracted key factors based on literature and validated models related to maker education for students' maker literacies in elementary school. The developed maker literacy education model was composed of three dimensions, the operational, the cultural, and the critical areas and 12 sub-factors according to the process of formation of literacy. Based on this, the NAVI education program consisting of four stages, Novel, Assembly, Voyages, and Innovation, was developed and applied to elementary school students for 8 weeks. As a result of the study, male students were significantly higher than female students in the cultural and critical areas of maker literacy. We also analyzed specific affecting factors that learners’ satisfaction and the NAVI education program stages. Based on the analysis results, we presented some considerations and implications when instructing maker education through the NAVI education program in the field.

4차 산업혁명의 기술 발전과 더불어 메이커 교육이 가지고 있는 다양한 장점으로 인해 새로운 교육 패러다임 으로서의 가능성을 보여주고 있다. 본 연구에서는 초등학교에서 학생들의 메이커 리터러시를 위해 메이커 교육 과 관련된 문헌과 검증된 모형들을 기반으로 핵심 요인들을 추출하였다. 개발한 메이커 리터러시 교육 모델은 리터러시가 형성되는 과정에 따라 운영적, 문화적 및 비판적 영역으로 된 3개의 영역과 총 12개의 하위 역량으 로 구성되었다. 또한 이를 기반으로 총 4단계로 구성된 NAVI(Novel-Assembly-Voyages-Innovation) 교육 프로 그램을 개발하여 초등학생을 대상으로 8주간 적용하였다. 연구 결과 메이커 리터러시의 문화적, 비판적 영역에서 남학생이 여학생보다 유의미하게 높게 나타났다. 또한 학습자의 만족도 및 NAVI 교육 프로그램 단계별로 영향 을 주는 영역별 요인들을 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 현장에서 NAVI 교육 프로그램을 통한 메이커 교육 을 실시할 때 고려해야 할 사항과 시사점에 대해 제시하였다.
